Question about new scaling

First of all, my apologies if this was covered, but after using search and scouring page after page, I didn't find the answer anywhere.

If you had a roster that had no characters above level 85, will you be matched up differently and have to take on level 141's all the time, now that they are level 94?

Secondly, if you have characters at level 100+ and delete them, will you be able to successfully "downgrade" your level of difficulty scaling?

I know the iso return rate sucks for selling a maxed Punisher, but he seems to be making it so all of my matchups are against teams of 3 141s!

Long story short, I need to know if I need to get rid of all of my characters that are above level 85 now to get back to enjoying what used to be me and my family's favorite mobile game.

Thanks in advance for any non-troll response. icon_e_smile.gif

  • Unfortunately roster does not have that much influence on scaling or MMR (or so we are told)
What selling your punisher would do is make you lose to more of the 141's thus lowering your mmr and bringing you back down to 2* land.

Your win/loss ratio is what matters most. If you are running into 141's and still winning the game sees no reason to take it easy on you. If you are fighting through 2*'s and then hit 141's and stop you still have an impeccable win loss ratio so the game sees no reason to take it easy on you. If you fight up to a point and keep fighting but lose a lot you should go back down. (also see tanking)

Wish there was a better way but welcome to the MMR hell of the 2-3* transition.

The bottom line is that selling your Punisher will not help (directly). Losing will take you back to the "safe" band, and stopping using Punisher is equivalent to selling it, so don't sell it, the sell price is not worth it. Accept/force increased losses in one or a few PVP events to directly lower your rating and, in the longer term, build up enough other 3*s to be able to take on the tougher teams.
