Who wants to explain what was going on in PvP this morning?

I've noticed prolonged quiet spells in pvp where you get very few attacks - especially in the last couple. And if some high point folk are actively shield-hopping and you are skipping a lot then you expect to keep queuing them - that's why you're skipping right?
Yes Mikey, of course. And you're usually one that I'm looking for
Thanks for the replies. If this isn't unusual then perhaps I just haven't witnessed it before or it happened for such a short period of time that It wasn't noticeable.
Anyway thanks for the responses guys. Makes some sense anyway. Go ahead and let this thread die.0 -

WorldRunner wrote:#2) I spend easily 20-30k+ skip tax every PvP looking for targets. This morning I didn't pay skip tax because as soon as I came out of a shield hop the targets were already there.
Please tell me that was a typo. If not, someone needs an intervention. Pressing the skip button 2000-3000 (10 ISO per skip) times while staring at a screen?
Am I the only one in shock?0 -

It means he gets more points and more rewards than he would have if he had played the game instead of masturbating the skip button.0 -

Is that what it takes to perform in a PvP ?
If we value this, this is $50 worth per PvP ? That does not include the shield hp.
I will not comment nor express any opinion about this, but I am astounded.
Besides 20-30k ship tax is 2000-3000 skips.
It must be a large amount of stress to perform in a pvp.
D3P should quickly change the system, the same way Magic the Gathering did a couple of years ago. Ever since, they have doubled the number of players.
They should learn from games that succeed...
That amount of resources on one PvP round amazes me as well. I'm in your bracket, and you're leading #2 by 622 points (at the time of this writing).
I thought I spent too much time playing MPQ, but now I know why I will never be in the top. I sure won't spend that much (read ANY) money on this game to reach that point.
To answer your question, I have noticed times where I don't get hit for hours at a time, then within the time it takes me to play one game, I've been hit 4 or 5 times.
I think it just has to do with timing and where you are in other peoples' queues.
Hey, I think I was the #2 in this bracket. I was watching Worldrunner make his epic run and wondering how on earth he did it. Now I know - thanks for sharing!
I agree that pvp has been weird lately. Very hard to predict when you're going to get hit a ton and when ... nothing.0 -
Yes E, you were. Your name is easy to remember!
Anyway my crazed PvP runs is temporary. I'm not hurting anyone. I've met people who spend their entire paycheck pressing a button on a slot machine or drinking themselves to blackout every night or snorting white powder up their nose.
I'm not hurting anyone (including myself) So I really don't need an intervention or anyone's concern or advice on what I spend on this game. I promise it's ok0 -

I would be the last to judge considering I bought more than 3 Million ISO through the marketplace. I used that to level my chars though.0 -

I'm not one to judge. In fact, I was mostly jealous, since you obliterated all hope of getting first place in the (otherwise pretty weak) bracket. You made me think seriously about whether I should just buy some patch/mags covers to get to 140/120 like you did. Do you feel like that was worth it overall?0 -
This past tourney was a weird one for me too, I got attacked way more than I usually are, way more, and most of them from people with pretty low points, under 300......and when I got to 800 points I only found 3 targets, I spent around 1500 iso skipping them cause they were giving me low points, I had to shield cause I didn't want to spend any more iso.0

Without looking at your roster I would assume there's probably better upgrades you can make to your roster if you're looking to spend money on the game.
Cmag/Patch is a good combo both for leveling and speed hops. However Sentry/Daken (which I don't have leveled enough) is faster although it's not much of a team for climbing up the ladder IMO.
The issue with Cmag is maybe in a week or a month or who knows he is supposedly being nerfed. However if you're close to having him leveled up it might be worth it as he's a beast in Villain LR. I prefer 553 Cmag although there are other builds that work too. One rep of patch green + 5 Blue AP + 8 Red AP = everyone dead. (And fast)
Depending on who you have right now you'd probably be better served leveling other chars before Cmag but Patch is a standard good char to have. He was many peoples first max char and I think almost all of them would tell you he's worth it.0 -
You're costing everyone else HP with that Bagman team, WR. Are you trying to singlehandedly disrupt every bracket's top 5 with 50 point giveaways every six minutes?0
