Who in my roster can battle 3-star teams in PvP?

Okay, I've stopped seeing constant streams of Punisher/OBW teams now that TrueHealing has come into effect.
Now my problem is teams of fully leveled Classic Magneto, Patch, and/or Lazy Daken. Or any maxed 3-star opponents.

This game makes me want to pull my hair out it's so difficult at times. I can go a day were I obliterate any team I come across and I start feeling good about myself. Then I have to spend the next three days losing to every team I face because I have nothing in my roster powerful enough to compete against fully-leveled teams.

Looking at my roster, who should my go-to team be for facing maxed 3-star teams in PvP? I like having the rainbow of powers available to me but Bullseye and Captain America aren't exactly going to win games. Hulk and GSBW are my strongest players but that's too much focus on green AP to be useful. I've been trying to find a good compromise but I can't find anything.

I get super frustrated because it can be struggle for me to place high enough to get a single 3-star cover in events. It makes me feel like I'm too casual of a gamer to play a lousy match-3 game. I'm not trying to be a top-5 player at all. I just want the couple hours a day I do play this game to be enjoyable, or else there's no reason for me to play.

  • The short answer is that you don't really want to be fighting 3 star teams if you have a two star roster. This brings us to the real issue which is that MPQ has a bad feature called MMR and your MMR is too high.

Your MMR is an invisible score that gets higher when you win matches and lowers when you lose matches. The difficulty of your opponents is based on a combination of several factors. We players don't know exactly what the formula is, but we know that it is primarily based upon the level of the characters on your roster and your MMR.

If you have a strong two star roster and you have been on a long streak of doing well in events your high MMR is forcing you up into matches against three star teams. Fortunately there is a fairly straightforward solution to this issue; lower your MMR. If you lower your MMR you will once again find yourself facing 2 star teams like yours and if you lower it enough you will start seeing even weaker teams.

To lower your MMR you simply need to lose matches. Retreating does not count as losing in this case. My recommendation is that you start out every event by purposefully losing a number of matches until you find yourself matched against reasonable opponents.

I'd honestly argue that sometimes having overlap on your colors is ok, especially when they have good synergy together. While Hulk & Grey Widow don't work quite as well together as Thor & M. Storm, having Hulk tank and build up green so that Widow can Snipe out the team is a winning strategy.

Sure it sucks to have a color or two go unused, but sometimes the uses go much better together. It doesn't look like an option for you right now, but Black Panther would work very well with those two. In the mean time, I'd experiment with a few of your other higher leveled characters to see which Blue, Yellow, or Black skills work best with Hulk & Widow.
  • Agree you need to manage your mmr. Looking at your roster I would run Ares Punisher and OBW. That team can do serious damage.
