Does leveling ur characters raise ur MMR making the game more challenging/difficult or is it how well u do in tourneys etc? I'm thinking of leveling my cmags from 89-115 in 1 go but I'm not sure if D3 will put me fighting the big guys if I do, any help?

It's based on your wins and losses, both defensive and offensive. Leveling characters indirectly affects your wins and losses.

I played with a guy once that kept all his chars at 60 thinking it would make the game easier. It doesn't

Think of it a little hidden point system. Win some games and points are added. Lose some games and they are removed.

It doesn’t matter what level you beat or lose to mmr will effected the same regardless.

How well you do in a tournament doesn't matter but if your ranking high your wining a lot of games and a lot more points are being added to your mmr.

Thanks guys now I just need to decide whether to soft cap my cmags or spread my I so hmm decisions decisions

These guys are misleading you.. leveling up your characters does not raise your MMR but it does effect the level of opponents you are matched against. Sitting at level 60 doesn't make much sense but sitting at level 85 certainly does. I wouldn't level any 3 star characters above 85 until you are ready to commit to the 3 star game.
