Useful tip, but is it true?

Trying to collect the last HP that I haven't farmed from there, I failed to win against the last PvE mission (Rag had 48 health left when he finished off my team...). Afterwards I saw this tip I hadn't before: "Unless their description says otherwise, powers that destroy tiles deal damage and earn Action Points for each tile destroyed". There's often questions about whether X ability also generates AP when used. If this tip is true, it should be less ambiguous than we've thought.

  • If that's true, you might see more Magneto Now support on teams. 64 AP (including environment tiles) for his blue ability. 13 AP is high and you have a big countdown, but you'd get a lot of Blue AP back. Plus purple would get you there again really quickly. Even at level 4 it would be nice. 9 AP and a 3 turn countdown for damage and 28 AP.

But seriously, I bet they are trying to make it clearer, but they overlooked Mag Now. I know he didn't work like that in the past anyway. Also, I don't remember Grey Suit's Green ability saying that it didn't generate AP specifically so they might have added that in, but either way it does now. I'm glad they're making it clearer.
  • Wait, so sniper rifle generates AP? I hadn't noticed. I mean, it should based on that tip, but I'd never noticed it before.

EDIT: nm, no, they've changed the description to state that sniper rifle doesn't generate AP. That's new I think. The description in skills compendium doesn't have that bit.
  • Sniper Rifle (Lvl 3): Black Widow uses a long range rifle to shoot a location on the board, clearing a reticle shaped pattern. Deals damage for each tile destroyed and an additional 1411 damage to the current target, but does not generate AP.
  • Magneto NOW's blue does not generate AP but his red does. Both descriptions don't really tell you either way.

The lack of explanation a bug that needs fixing although the functionality is correct. I know it's in the database. We'll get around to it eventually, hopefully sooner than later.
  • I brought this up about two months ago, even had a screenshot to go with it. The tip should just be removed completely to avoid confusion

The shatter/destroy distinction would be fine, if it was more consistent
