How about 4* covers for top 5 finishers?

With the upcoming change to character levels, a lot has been made of the ability and willingness of 1 & 2 star players being unable or unwilling to make the jump into 3* territory. But what about the players with lots of 3* covers? What will keep us motivated and playing into the future?

Nick Fury finally feels like he is going to play like a 4* character should, but if after this season he is only offered to players that manage to finish no. 1 in their brackets, how many players will actually be able to make the transition. As it stands now, the shield hopping wars that the top alliances participate in means you often see the no. 1 player in your bracket with a score 200 points or higher than no. 2. So my question is, why not make the 4* covers a little more accessible by offering them as a top 5 finish reward? That keeps them pretty rare and allows motivated players a chance to actually start collecting them and making them usuable, instead of the trophies that they currently represent for most of us.

  • 4* should be hard to obtain and i think 1st place in a 500 player bracket is enough.
if you're in a tough bracket just don't spend alot of HP shieldhopping and eventually you can buy a cover with the HP you've saved.

thus far 4* characters have proven to have little to no use in MPQ, other than the odd node where they have been mandatory.

IMO increasing 4* prizes would be a downgrade.

I'm talking about speeding up transitions, not making it harder for myself and my alliance each season by not shielding and MAYBE be able to buy one Fury a month.

While it would be cool to get 4* for top 5 finishes, it's fair to say that anyone who finishes in the top 5 could win if things break down well including efficient play
  • It is plausible that one day, 4****s rewards for Top 5 might occur. However, that won't happen until the 4**** portion of the game is constructed. As mentioned by others, the 4**** game is highly incomplete at this point in time and the two existing 4**** characters leave much to be desired.

The upcoming change to spread out 4****s from 3***s levelwise is perhaps a foundation being planned in which to build the 4**** game upon. This might be a first step at constructing the next tier of rarity/power for real and moving towards a reason to present 4**** covers at more than just 1st place alone.

Don't you have to have won a character before you can buy covers?

It's basically down to luck with not being in a bracket with the people who go and destroy the progression rewards

Or cheat without getting kicked. If I was competing for 4* rewards, those folks would be my real concern.

Maybe Fury will be different, but right now X-Force and IW are shiny trophies you keep on the mantle and don't use.
