Explain the appeal of lightning rounds to me

So I hear that the benefit of LRs are the iso. I have a few questions about that...
1. How much do you tend to generate per tourney or week?
2. Does it screw with your MMR?
3. How high do you tend to go in each round? All 90 minutes? Until 250?
4. Anything else to know about LRs?

1. Varies. Usually ~2000 or so ISO per round. I've gotten as much as 5000. Keep in mind, I don't play the full round.
2. It does not appear to affect my mmr at all. I think they removed the linkage, or at least weakened it, because it used to.
3. I usually just play the seed teams. That usually gets me to 171-210, sometimes higher (occasionally lower). If 250 is within reach afterwards I'll jump up to it, and if token placement is in reach at the end I"ll fight another few matches to get it. Usually about 15 minutes at the beginning is it, rarely, if ever more than a half hour per round total.
4. Always start at the very, very beginning - I generally aim for the first few seconds - if you want to go as far as possible on seed teams. For maximum ease, always fight the easiest one you can see, but don't hit skip on the "hard" ones, even if you don't intend to fight them, or they'll come up in the queue again.0 -
First of all i dont realy partake in all of the LR as i work 11 hours a day. But if you do start them right as they start, u do get seed teams for about 5 minutes, and thats a bunch of free ISO. i tend to only play a few more matches after that to grab a few more iso. I do believe IceX mentioned the LR do not play a factor on your MMR as much anymore0

Damage incurred in a LR does carry over, manage your healing well so you can still compete in other events too0
-
The only thing extra you get out of LR is the extra seed teams. The match themselves aren't any quicker than normal games. If anything the format tends to be a bit slower because it's not unusual to fight multiple level 212 characters.0

You also get around 1000-2000 "extra" iso per LR from progression and event rewards0 -
I do the same thing. play them just as they open to get iso. Usually around 2000-3000, sometimes more, but i play less than half hour from start usually. As I am not going for placement, I dont use any iso to skipping teams, I rather go in with a loaner and unleveled chars and retreat to get rid of too powerful teams. Skipping only makes me see them again. And do that too if I see forumites, to kindly kick in some point for them if they are going for rewards. Or if someone from here attacks, ill go in for retaliation and retreat too (I firmly believe that helping others makes my token karma better ) I like fighting those small seed teams a lot, then I can use the craziest combos of unleveled heroes. When I start seeing only really strong teams I stop playing.0

Progression is 140+100+250+100=690, and each heroic* token is really only 250 iso0 -
You should be able to get the first 3 progression reward for just defeating the seed teams, so the only additional progression reward is likely at 250. Villian rounds pace is likely faster than a normal game if the other side doesn't have The Hood, but it is slower if they do because you either fight The Hood without your own, which is dangerous, or you use The Hood too but then they cancel each other out and bring negligible offense, thus slowing down the pace of the whole game. Hero round would have the same issue depending on whether you're fighting Hulk or not.0

1) matter on how many you play. I play till i get to 100 point progression (1 standard token, boost, 250 iso) with iso prizes after matches i get around 500 iso for 10/15 minutes. if you do all 24 u get (24 standard tokens, and at least 12k iso)
2) i really don't know but reading from other people in the forum they tank LR to lower their MMR
3) i go to 100 points cause it's fast cause of seed teams. but have gone to 250 a few times to get 2nd token, and extra iso, but with "true healing", not worth it anymore.
4) if you sell every 1* and 2* from matches u can get about 100+ covers if you do all 24 and get a bonus of 10-13k extra iso.
hope that helps0 -
I just do seed teams and get around 3000 ISO (I think?) for around 15 minutes of playing.0

Even if all you do is beat 3 seed teams you end up with a standard token (i.e. 100 iso), some worthless boosts, and ~400 iso (supposedly they balance rewards so each gives about 105 on average, plus the 30 bonus cause you'd be a fool to skip someone). If your team can kill pretty quickly and you start right away you can see seed teams for ~15 minutes and easily reach the 100 pt mark, and sometimes even get up to ~200. That's something like 7-14 matches, which for those math nerds out there, comes out to 945-1890 iso on average.
I rarely play the whole thing to get some tokens, but when I do I can come away with 5000+ iso, which isn't too bad for 90 minutes of "work".
Also, the last LR I did I ended up with like 7 2* covers from the seed teams (and not a single 1*). Are they programmed to give more 2* covers or is it just normal variance and I'll see none next time?0 -
I play for the variation. Usually I play until I lose and then I move on. It's extra ISO and it is some variety.0
-
I play the last 30 minutes and finish ranked 26-50 in order to get 2 recruit tokens. I earn a couple grand each round and if I'm really lucky one 3* I need. It's pretty easy.0
-
I like tokens.0

I'm still at about 20 Diabolicals and 10 Hero tokens saved. Great way to earn ISO and collect tokens and smash down people in PVP.0
