Patch/Daken Combo - What strategies do you employ?

Hi all,
I'm starting up a Patch/Daken Combo team and I was wondering if those of you that use this team, can share some tips on using this seemingly fun team.
I started using this combo and I'm not sure if I should be using Berserker as soon as its up and try to match down the other team. Doing so I seem to get hit fairly hard of course, but I can heal up at the beginning of the next match if things go well.
The matches also seem to go a little longer than I thought. What do you try to do to get the matches down quickly?
Thanks in advance for any insight you may have!
Cheers!

Throw in a Hulk or Thor or Black Panther to keep any would be attackers at bay.0

I have been running this for awhile now and love it. panther is my other a teamer but would fit in hulk or sentry if i could.
My deal is slightly dependent on the 3rd and my opponent but i focus on green. Don't use rage too early unless you can control the purple tiles. Blue is meant to be a finisher.
Finally, go for max healing on both for maximum playability on offense and for annoyance on defense.0 -
I saw the thread title and the first thing that came to mind was "I use the skip button."
But that's probably not very helpful0 -

lol that is one response I was hoping for!0 -
Still not sure on daken. Losing HP due to heat and lack of blue tiles is still a detractor. However for Patch, I know there's a few things I do
- Try to have another attack ready after the first Berserker.
- If no Hulk then try to have a purple match ready to try to reduce enemy strike tiles (double damage if OBW on team)
- else have a Hulk match ready so he takes max damage on opponents next turn
- Use Pun/HT/Psy/Other to lay down an attack tile before turn ends

Been playing this combo today....works well as I don't have to worry about healing too much. I find the games are longer than say a punny obw match, but that's most likely me just getting used to the dynamics and when to drop berserker.0

You mean actually using Patch and Daken on the same team? Putting the two together doesn't really get you much in PvP unless your featured character is a loaner, though playing with effectively 2 characters to take advantage of regen is sort of backwards. I guess it'd work if the featured character is particularly useless (say, Daredevil) but otherwise you're supposed to get a lot of mileage out of the featured guy.0

Patch was my second 141, Daken was my 3rd. I've been running the pair together since Daken was at about 115 or so.
I'm built 3/5/5 Patch, 5/5/3 Daken.
Currently I usually prioritize green. Blue as others have said is an end game, but can be used defensively to take out someone about to get a nasty skill off with under 2k HP. With Patch at 3/5/5 the opponents strike tiles are not too much of a concern, but you do try and wait until you have a decent chance of lining up purples, even if it doesn't work out, or if you know the opponent doesn't have a skill in the next two moves. I rarely match blue anymore, and incidentally will often accrue 5 by the end game for the last chunk. I don't often fire TBTI since I like to leave red on the board, and 14 is a lot to generate.0 -

I have to disagree. I've been doing it since early season 2 and they synergize well (cover all colors except blue even though daken has a blue ability). They tend to lend to a decent winning strategy regardless of tourney.
Hot shot: collect green and black. Inferno and/or flame jet + strike tiles = win
GSBW: collect green and purple. Getting enough purple ends the game regardless of whether you use sniper rifle or spam rage once you get 18 green
The combo isn't braindead like some of the others are but it lasts a long time in pvp and i could consistently get to 1-1.1k with it when i pushed for it. With the addition of "true healing", this is the most sustainable offensive team imo as they can heal about 700 a turn if you have blues on board. Is it the best defensive team? No, but shield up or sub someone in if that's your issue.0 -

This only works if your featured character is not as high. In Hot Shots, Daken would get purple and Patch would get yellow and HT gets all other colors. For GSBW Wolverine would get red/yellow, green would be split with Daken depending on where the positioning is, and Daken gets nothing otherwise, and that's a particularly favorable color setup (GSBW's colors are exactly the opposite of Patch's). There's probably some level range where you could share the colors at least somewhat equally but anyone at level 212 (141 featured) isn't going to work even on offense for regen purposes just because of all the colors they take up.0 -

If they are low level, its perfect for that. If not, at least you are only worrying about one hero to health pack instead of three if you use someone else. I've dealt with both situations and still found it to be pretty sustainable.0
