Which nerf annoyed you more?

In terms of their disruption to the player base, they seem to be the major ones that come to mind.

Assuming you have been around for that long...

[Edited to add suggestions as others suggested them. At time of edit, True Healing (TM) (R) (C) was far ahead].

  • #1 Hood scoring becoming the normal form of scoring. After that, probably lazy characters. Not because the concept was unduly horrible, but because I knew they would start to dominate how many new characters launched. Next, probably increasing the enemy lvl.cap all what came with that. its never affected me personally, because I played intelligently.with the idea of starting late and.grinding effectively, but there was no.reason for it...at all. Then alliances (It would be higher, except I like being able to talk in game) in part because the forum itself started to devolved into bickering and stupidity from where it was in December and earlier. Was not happy, aS I knew the negative it would, and did, bring to the game: Extra negative competition, lack of sharing info on forums, childish fights (see recent xmen stuff, on both sides), removing a lot of the ability to play the game solo, ppl having to take rewards they didn't need, feeling of attachment to playing or you let down your alliance mates, etc.

bonus: not an update, but every time some non-iceIX person came onthe game to drop a "we do better next time?" Only to do better 1 next time, although still not welland then go right back to doing something the way they did before. now they don't even bother...just send poor iceIX for his 15 min daily forum beating before he creeps off for the day.

None of the nerfs have been bad, imo, in content. Overdone? Yes, they can't balance. But healing, Thor, astonishing, rag, loki, spiderman....they all needed nerf for the game to get better. Of course then they go and add a character like sentry *face palm* but what can we do?
  • I voted healing because the other 2 were minor inconveniences, but if the poll was covering features and changes in general, I'd go for ending times / rubber-banding.

The way they continue to "improve" PvE is just one big nerf if you ask me.
    Level scaling.
    Increasing level scaling.
The devs constant need to make every PvE a PvP competition.
How progression rewards have recently become too low and you overshoot it by miles or it's been completely out of reach.
  • Strangely, the biggest problem I have had with any changes was when they 'bundled' cover slot costs. Even though it didn't effect me at all, the rationale behind it sickened me and made me lose any faith I had left in these guys.

I really haven't had a problem with any of the nerfs to characters. All were needed and most were done pretty well. Except for Spider-man, I'll never understand how they botched that one.

    Huh? Let's review...

    Loki? Now useless.
    Ragnarok? Next to useless.
    Spidey? Useless.
Wolverine? Shadow of his former self.
    Thor? Still a good character.

So that's 1 out of the 5 they actually did a decent job with. Not quite sure how you can say with a straight face that most were done pretty well.
  • Can I vote for all of them?

Spidey has been reduced to a throw away character.

Spiderman. When you severely nerf (directly and indirectly) one of the most popular heroes in the world, to the point where nobody wants to use him, there is a problem. Heck, they even have him pictured on the title screen.

My point was that -who they selected- to nerf was in good judgement, not the implementation of those nerfs. It's been a mixed bag in that regard.

You forgot to add C.Storm on your list, they did that one well.

Wolvy/Thor are still viable. Rags/Loki would be also if they just added decent third abilities to them.
  • I would say the stealth nerf last week of hero points. By removing the 50 hero point bonus from the top 2500 alliances to the top 250, the reward has been effectively limited to 20 person alliances only, effectively cutting 2*players out. Just another trick to slow player progression/force them to pay to play.

Between that and the true healing, they really stuck it to the 2* level players.

If Loki/Spiderman are worthless now, they can be replaced with any of the other 15 usable 3* options. OBW can be replaced with which 2*option:

    A. Bullseye
    B. Moonstone
    C. Hawkeye
    D. Bagman
    E. Putting the game down
  • how they nerfed LOKI?
I can not remember... how much better he was? What have changed?

This is the real problem. The problem is not that they nerf Spidey or Ragnarok, they needed a nerf, the problem is that afterwards they are completely ruined!!! I don't know how they test these nerfs or I they are doing these on purpose so we have to move to new and shinny characters, so they can nerf them in the future and keep the circle spinning.

Look to Spidey, first hey nerf him and make him useless, they unnerf him a little bit, andhe has its uses, but then they nerf healing, and now he is useless again. **** !!!

D3 I want new characters all the same, you don't need to ruin the old ones!!!

Loki pre-dates me (by quite a while) but I've been playing while the others have dropped and even though none of them affected me greatly (limited covers in every case) they clearly needed tweaking. Whether or not they were overnerfed is another matter.

This complete change to the healing mechanics was entirely unnecessary - particularly if the stated goal was just to eliminate prologue healing.

Still don't get that Rags is so underpowered compared to Thor (51 red compared to 67) but Daken is equal to Wolverine Patch (67 green). In fact every other 3* (except for Loki) has at least one 67 skill and every 2* has one 50 skill. Why Rags and Loki are not even given the same basic strengths is most annoying to me- as far as nerfs.
