The healing nerf might pull me back in

I left the game a while ago once alliances were needed to get that third three cover, mostly because of burnout. I had to use healing characters to stay competitive, and as such, it was causing me to have to spend too much time.

Now? With the nerfed healing, I see most everyone will be able to play less, thus competition will be on about the same footing, but for less time spent playing for everyone. So kudos to the devs. I'll be trying it once again once the new patch hits.

Don't know. I just logged in today to check on MPQ from a few weeks ago, saw the healing nerf, and was too happy to not post.

You might want to temper your expectations. This change probably just made the divide between mid level and veteran players even bigger. The veterans are totally unaffected by this change (better and stronger roster), while the mid level players get their play time reduced.

I'm a veteran with a good roster. Haven't relied much on OBW or Spiderman.

I really, really like the faster healing times. I get a spare moment to play every three hours or so, and I like trying out risky rosters. Often, that would result in a chuck of my roster being dead for half a day. Hulk always got it worst -- he needs to be hurt to be a participant, and boy did he take a long time to heal.

I tried out a Daken/Spidey/Falcon team yesterday for fun, and got trashed by Hood/Sentry. But that team is now back up -- before I'd need to use healing packs or wait 6 more hours.

Another side benefit -- in PvP, my score isn't being dragged down 350 points each time I take an unshielded break by a bunch of OBW/2*Thor teams. That was always demoralizing. This morning, it was just 100 points by 3* teams. I can live with that. Also, those enemy teams that took me down -- they are teams I haven't seen before, from people digging deeper into their rosters.

So, up here in 3* land, the change has some benefits. The Juggernaut/SheHulk event was the most fun I had with the game in months. Good play wasn't punished with brutal scaling. I came very close to quitting after the Daken event, and had more burnout after season 2.

But now, I'm starting to like the game again. I still think the healing change sucks. But enemy teams were using it against me a lot more than I was using it. The faster healing times for my 3* characters is fantastic.

Sure, come back, try it, I bet you quit again in zero time. You just slept over the big changes like sharding, right?

So this change is tailored right for your play style. And hoses everyone else who has 1 or 2 time points in a day to play or whatever other schedule.
  • Haha yeah I suffered massive burnout and took a few months break only to rejoin a few weeks ago and have been loving it again!
  • Yeah the healing nerf is a good move. It gives players some needed downtime.

    It's a bad move.
I'd rather determine when I take my downtime, so I can schedule playing the game alongside work and everyday life, than have the developers dictate when I'm allowed to play their game.

And a good jum poff point unless they are happy to bend to prescribed ways to play.
