So this is Hero Girlz alliance chat here! Everybody welcome to talk about anything!

And some info about our alliance, Lordwill from Retribution created this alliance at first, for his daughter who is playing, you can find some info about it from the "any other girls who play this?" thread here http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=703&start=20 and some from girly thread from here too http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6973&p=133082&hilit=hero+girlz#p133082

We are now at 14/14. But if you are interested to join (and buy your slot) we are happy to welcome you to the alliance! I will inform here too if there is open slots sometimes (im saving my alliance earned HP to open a new slot, but it will take some time...)
We are very casual and friendly alliance, more in the top 500 than top 100 (well, someday when we get more members we will be!) So if you are interested you can pm me or post here!

And I also want to say thanks to Lordwill for creating this alliance icon_e_biggrin.gif and to I-am-amish for supporting our alliance icon_e_biggrin.gif
And also of course to all my alliance mates for playing! icon_e_biggrin.gif

  • SummerOtaku checking in! I'm also a member in Hero Girlz!

    A little about me!

My name is Summer, I live in Rhode Island, USA, am a single massage therapist, and about to be 34 on July 6th. Despite being a big nerd, Marvel has only come recently. I was definitely more into the Batman family, specifically the Robins/Nightwing, Anime, and nerdy pop culture in general.

I started collecting comic books in earnest (not the Dungeons and Dragons comics I randomly got back in '96) when Young Justice was on Tv, so before the Flashpoint event and New 52. Saw the Iron Man movies, Thor, and Captain America all on DVD but didn't really get any of their comics. Then Avengers happened and I became obsessed within the fandom with Hawkeye/Coulson (awesome fanfic) and Science Bros (Tony/Bruce) and well damn near every possible pairing (BlackHawk, StarkSpangleBanner, Pepperoni) minus the Thor cast. Then the Matt Fraction Hawkeye comic book really sparked me off to reading Marvel comics as well.

I started playing Marvel Puzzle Quest because I saw Totalbiscuit '**** is Marvel Puzzle Quest' vid on Youtube and while he seemed not all that keen on it, I wanted to try it since I've never played a bejeweled type game before and now LOVED Marvel characters.

Currently my highest leveled character is Hulk (level 92). I have all the rares except Sentry and Legendaries minus Nick Fury. Currenly trying to get She Hulk! My favorite team is Original Black Widow, Wolverine, and probably either Hulk,Classic Storm, or MN Mageto depending on who I'm playing. I like events more than PVP, especially ones with countdown tiles. I hate playing Blk widow/Thor or Daken/anyone combos in PVP.

I've placed first in an event once and I only throw money down to get spots for new characters space.

If you want to chat or what not, I'm SummerOtaku on Twitter, Tumblr, gmail, and have a small amount of poorly written fanfic on AO3. (Scifigirl in our Alliance actually has AMAZING fic though...just saying.) icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Congrats to everyone who snagged a She-Hulk! I got her with a very lovely Red cover!
  • I got two! Red and green. Blue would have been nice, since it destroys countdown tiles. Missed it just with some points, as I fell asleep on the couch just couple of hours before ending... with Ipad in my hand. ...european ending times are just horrible sometimes.
  • Oh and I'll tell something about myself too icon_e_smile.gif

Im from Finland where most of the events end about seven am in the morning. I dont like waking up early, so sometimes that is difficult. Well, at least Im almost always at home then and actually can play if only I wake up...

Althought Im quite old, Im a student, (I have studied many different things) now I'm studying to be a metal artisan. And I make some art from papier mache at my freetime, if you want to know more, you can check my page at http://horrorart.wordpress.com/ there are some sculptures inspired mostly by movies and music icon_e_smile.gif
I also make props, decorations and costumes and stuff as a freelancer to short films and festivals and for different purposes. Here is couple of clips of some of videos where you can see some of my work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opD1q0KDzZY and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7lntTTJjUI there is bit of horror, violence and weirdness included, so "Viewer discretion is advised" icon_e_wink.gif

I love old horror and weird movies, cats, monsters, music (mostly Misfits, Samhain, Danzig, Doors, Jefferson airplane, Cramps, Elvis, Coven and all that kind of stuff) and creating things with my hands.

I have played mpq quite long and got bit addicted to it. I like playing plants vs zombies, heroes of might and magic 2, kingdom rush 1&2 too. I loved Puzzle quest 2, so tried this.
  • Wah! Creepy (but cool) paper mache! Do you have a specific recipe you use? I'd like to be able to make cosplay props and stuff with it but god...I don't remember the last time I paper mached...1998 maybe?!

I enjoy weird movies, cats, and the Doors as well.

Good Luck in school! Finland, wow!
  • I use a mixture of woodglue, wallpaperglue and water and make it quite thick. I usually use layering technic, vhere you strip pieces of paper and put them in gluemixture for litle while before applying them to the base. I usually make base structure from metal wire mesh or from finnfoam ( it is like styrofoam but with even structure, not little balls like styro. It is used normally in walls to keep the heat in at winter) or polystyrenefoam ( that is a building material also). Then i apply layer of masking tape on the surface to make the glue stick to it better. Usually i use thick brown packing paper for couple first layers and then thinner packing paper to make wrinkles and stuff on top. It is good to put at least three layers to make it be stronger. After it is dried i paint it with acrylic paints and finish with lack. Sometimes I use old toy or doll parts or something and glue them together and use that as a base to put thin layer of paper. Then i usually use mixture of just water and woodglue for that.
  • Just added us to that alliance reorganisation sheet, at here alliance subforum icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Randomly chatting here again because I was on the site again to look for clues as to why all my events and alliance info disappeared and figured I'd check in to our home base and say hey.

Sorry my last minute push on Ultron didn't happen... icon_neutral.gif
