    An ex Moderator here.

Do you think that is normal ?

Last week-end everybody seemed to be happy. The She-Hulk PvE was a good surprise also.

I maxed my last chars, and was saying to myself : that's cool, they understood how to make us happy.

And all of the sudden, here we go again with the downfall...

Yeah, go figure, it was just like 2 days ago Emery said he's back from casual to competitive and starts enjoying the thing again, then today we reached viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10333#p172953 shortly after gaining a "permanent forum ban".

And he was one of the most enthusiastic fan of this game applying mass of energy, stamina, even a load of money... Spectacular accomplishment in pissing off those deserving the most care.

I don't think it was a permanent ban. I think it was a "time out" ban. I think a permanent ban would have deleted his account. (I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that's how bans work)

He just chose that time to take himself out of the game. He reached a breaking point. All of us have breaking points. He reached his. It's sad to see a valuable member of our community go, but slowly and surely, all of us will eventually reach that point and just walk away unless some MAJOR changes for the good are implemented.
  • How come was he banned ? He overreacted publicly ?

I fully expect to see him back in the game with either his normal or a new account - most people who make such dramatic exits come back eventually icon_e_wink.gif

He trolled Ice by stealth-editing Ice's opening comment regarding the "True Healing" change to add "money" as an explicit reason for the change. I'm not surprised. It was a **** move.

Meh. Emeryt publicly claimed to have reached his breaking point after Season 1. This one had a bit more impact than empty bluster, but I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
  • I see.

I remember he threatened me to ban me by pm when I told the story behind the scene : the X-Men.

He must be hot blooded as we say in French.

Honestly, I wish I had the courage to do the same as him. But considering the money I put in the game, that would be silly.

Maybe if you stopped putting in even _more_ money it would be easier to quit, eventually.

the money that you put in are considered sunk costs. you should not take that into account. instead, you should ask yourself if you are enjoying the game now.

I really doubt that. Annihilation of an almost fully developed roster is something signaling the END for good. The only possibility for return would be f the game actually changed for good and people he trusts would call him back with that statement. guess you agree that it's snowball's chance in hell -- and even if happened after a major crash in some future by that time no one of that population would be around to tell the story.

Really, why YOU would come back to a game where development power is applied to changes no one ever asked or wanted (and the team predicts will make the whole population hulk smash angry) while not bothering to fix any of the requests from big fundamental design problems down to 5-minute fixes?

    I do for many reasons.

After the end of Season 2 I expected something new in the game, which did not happen. I had gotten all the covers needed (at least the first one in a specific colour) and I was waiting for a sale to buy ISO and max the last chars. Which happened finally.

I happen to be in a very cool Alliance, and the newcomers are pretty enthusiastic and bring fresh blood in our team. Besides, some members helped me improving my skills as I was just suffocating in my MMR level. I had promised I would do better for the Alliance in Season 3. Which I am doing.

The timers, the new rewards in PvPs, the new characters are something I do enjoy. I am learning how to do the best with my roster now. My rankings are better than ever, which is satisfying.

So, yes, I still enjoy the game, and contrary to what's been said here and there, the game IS NOT boring once you have maxed your roster. It gives many opportunities for a better gameplay and experience. It's just a shame one should spend 10K for that. I spent way more in Magic the Gathering but the cards have bigger and bigger values over time, so it's not a problem.

I'm more concerned about the future of MPQ. If I could sell my roster on Ebay, I would do it. But as for now, I can't. There's no market for that.

I'm pretty stressed at work, so MPQ relieves part of it, and is quite fun when I am in a zombie mode. So overall, there is more plus than minus.

He can come back to the game by mimicking Flo98's roster and winning matches, cos by then he would have tiger blood!

Now he did leave a maxed Bullseye in his roster, so there is a possibility icon_e_confused.gif Yeah, very said to see him go. I wished he would have let the dust settle and then react, but that's not emeryt.
  • These devs are the greediest I have ever seen in any F2P game. It is simply ridiculous. This new "healing" upgrade is just another spit in our face to prove it.

I paid more for this game than a new AAA category game costs, but I definitely won't pay more and I will discourage any friend of mine to even try this moneysink.

It won't happen. I can adjust my gameplay till the game sees better days.

Thank you for your interesting collaboration to the thread.

Actually not max - only level 40. Don't know why he stopped and left over 10K ISO in his account, must be planning for the big comeback.

He maybe could not delete the last ISO on his account.
  • Sério, esse update ferrou com tudo.
Não vai se poder jogar casualmente mais e pra conseguir algo no jogo só jogando toda hora.
Quando o jogo começa a virar obrigação, é hora de parar.
  • Any plan for a new game Emeryt ?
  • Many guys realize the same as you : getting back to real life is cool.

I was not a computer gamer either, never found any game that I liked. Until I found MPQ icon_e_smile.gif
