Android reset bug or hack!

Last night I played bluewhale in the pvp event. The instant I won, my android tablet reset itself. I went back into the game and bluewhale was still there. Fought again and lost. I saw the pink iso win screen and then the loser screen. Then, my opponents were other members of my alliance who are not in my current bracket.

I find it most disturbing that someone can reset my tablet and take over the win but then pit me against my alliance!

Please help! Others may think this was just an android issue and not even notice the alliance relation.

Thank you!

    Hi, Colt!

You can be matched against anyone else in a PvP event, not just those on your leaderboard, including fellow alliance members.

The most common cause of a reset like the one you describe is running out of memory. You can reduce the risk of that by closing other apps on your tablet before you start MPQ. Data on crashes are automatically sent to us, so if the crash is something specific to MPQ and is being experienced by many players, we'll see it. But if you find a way to reliably repeat the crash, please let us know!
  • I agree that a memory issue "could" cause a crash. However, this happening at the exact moment of a win is highly improbable, especially when this has never happened in the almost 250 days I have been playing. That, combined with seeing both a win and lose screen, one right after the other? And, my alliance members showing up immediately afterwards? Sounds more like a twilight zone episode than a memory issue to me. There are way too many inconsistencies and coincidences here for this to be a simple memory issue.

Could you please check the logs? If this goes unchecked, it will become a major issue! People will not play games that reset their computers/tablets!

    Thank you!
  • Most of the times mine has crashed have been at the beginning or - more frequently - end of a match. Crashing at the win, which automatically becomes a loss, has happened to me probably a dozen times. I understand why you think this is something malicious, but it's probably an ordinary crash.

The end of the match is one of the more likely spots to run out of memory. You're loading a bunch of post-mission UI at that moment, including images for rewards.

For someone to target you by controlling the players you're matched against, they'd need to be intercepting and manipulating traffic between you and the MPQ server - theoretically possible, but an incredibly difficult way to cheat.
  • This has never happened to me, and it was not an automatic loss. When I logged back in, the same opponent was there, as if the match never happened. I played against the same opponent a second time, which is when I lost.Seeing a win screen right before the lose scrren is also strange.

This struck me as a definite hack, but, if you claim it is normal, what more can I do? You aren't willing to look into the logs and that isn't something I have access to.
