I am quiting too!

Introduction: I am free player. 181 days of daily rewards. 35 characters. 115 Hulk, 89 lcap, standard triple 2* lvl 85 etc.

1) Every other week new 3 star
2) Mandatory alliance - double rewards for no additional cost
3) Season mandatory - I was not able to find an alliance, that could focus on ie every other pvp event successfully.
3,5) From the day I levelled up Hulk I cant get oponents under 141 - probably can be solved by selling hulk...

Conclusion: Mandatory playtime 3 hour per a day - more than in oldschool MMORPG in semiHC raiding guild.

Small chance to improve rooster for really hard time investment for a free player.
This game was fun, the development model and happines when you leveled up was better than in many standard RPGs. But this is gone, so am I. Cya

  • Getting rid of Hulk won't do you any good. Search these forums for the terms MMR and tanking. Tanking (losing on purpose) is a horrible solution in my opinion, but it seems to work.
  • You can get all three new covers solo in PVP and PVE now. Also, your 2* C. Storm can win this one singlehandedly.

You should be quitting over the lack of story and the bounty of bugs that plague the game.

This is probably the point at which D3 stopped caring if you quit.
  • all the points u mentioned that made u quit only look like positives to me.
    1) Every other week new 3 star

im tired of seeing same characters over and over so this is good to get some diversity.
    2) Mandatory alliance - double rewards for no additional cost

just find an alliance that suits you. more rewards for everyone.
    3) Season mandatory - I was not able to find an alliance, that could focus on ie every other pvp event successfully.

the forum is full of alliance looking for people just put a little efford you will find a fun or hardcore alliance whatever you prefer.

when you win all matches without losing your mmr gets too high and you face tougher opponents, when u lose matches ur mmr will drop and start meeting weaker teams.(so don't sell your hulk)
  • I see his point. He's played for 6 months and doesn't even have a maxed 3 star yet. Every 2 weeks they are heaping another 3 star character into the mix making him feel like he's falling further behind. The minute he does get a 3 star character up to speed, he's greeted by walls of 141's.

I agree. As a 2*/90 day player that is now working up some 3*'s, I look at the drop rate of 3* characters - from tokens, or even from events, and consider 141 a near impossibility. I'm posting here and can't remember the number so I went to look up the wiki >http://marvelpuzzlequest.wikia.com/wiki/Rare< - it can't even keep up! No Daken, Storm, and new She-Hulk of course. That puts the number to...20?

The expansion to getting these by being a top 100 PVP is certainly a start, but I hear the same story over and over: once you start to even get close, you get into MMR matchups that don't let you compete. So you have to PVE it, which is much slower and not guaranteed with a 2* roster either, as you can't grind the best nodes without already having a high 3* roster.

I know the long-timers aren't having a hard time: they win the events, get the first covers they need, and then HP level them up after that. But for the newbies, they can't even get the needed covers to spend the HP on.

It's an interesting trend, the old players are quitting and usually blaming MMR. The folks maxing out 2* rosters are quitting with frustration in MMR, but usually have the main complaint that roster size has made advancing impossible. I read the IceIX thread and saw that they were worried about this second situation, they better get it figured out fast. They changed MMR to make the 1* folks not get frustrated early, but the 3* drop rate is making the 2* folks get frustrated early on in the 3* progression.

    2 things:
    1) You should check out this thread to see how easy (or not) it is to max out any given 3* http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6311&hilit=recent+history While I had already been placing well for a while, I basically maxed out Rags entirely during season 1 alone, as well as maxed Patch from like 2/0/1 to 5/3/5 between season 1 and 2 rewards (plus like 1 token pull).
    2) They just changed PvP reward structure to give out more 3* covers. I know you complain about needing to be in a top 100 alliance, but if you can place top 5 and are in a top 100 alliance that's 4 3* covers EVERY PVP. That adds up rather fast. Even if you can only top 25, if you have that alliance cover you still manage to get the 3 different colored covers. Sure veterans who regularly put up 1100+ will take a lot of top 5 spots, but it shouldn't be so difficult to get top 25, even for a maxed 2*team.
  • Are You from Poland? Your nickname sounds like You are icon_e_wink.gif

IF so, check out the thread of the biggest polish alliance - viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4739&p=170128&hilit=poles#p170128 - a lot of good people in there.

    I spent a ton on the game. D3 presumably don't give a **** that I quit, either.

You are lucky then. I missed like 5 pvp 3 star rewards in 2 seasons. I have enough covers. Like 5 time lvl 77 3 star, and probably 20 more of them ranging form 7 covers to 2...
Still it does not help me to success in three star matches.

im tired of seeing same characters over and over so this is good to get some diversity.
Yo do not see OBW or Spiderman or Punisher over and over? Lucky you
just find an alliance that suits you. more rewards for everyone.
Season mandatory - I was not able to find an alliance, that could focus on ie every other pvp event successfully.
You do not find casual alliance looking to focus fully on one or two events per week.
Luckily this game has very poor UI for alliances. Otherwise it would comes out, how asocial alliances are. Most wannabe "I want Fury" alliances are looking for rosters, and after it on every pvp score and kicking ppl without hesitation. BTW I hate Fury and do not want it, just because it made me play mandatory on my vacation:/
when you win all matches without losing your mmr gets too high and you face tougher opponents, when u lose matches ur mmr will drop and start meeting weaker teams.(so don't sell your hulk)
I know what MMR is. And I know that it takes three times longer to get it down, and just few wins to take it back than it did before Hulk
  • I can't really complain and don't see much reason for others to either. I am at 94 days played and my highest 3* is LT at 92. I've only got 25 roster slots, but at the same time, 15 of those slots are 3*'s and 8 of those 3*'s have at least 6-7 covers. Even with the sharding in pvp, I still go up against 3x141's and have a lot of "heavy hitters" in my brackets. I still manage to hit top 5/10. For PVP, it isn't only about MMR, it is timing. I have my rotations that I grind, and it has worked for the last 2 months which gave me the covers that I have, I also have a great alliance who helps each other out with advice, info and "roster management". We work together and make top 100 fairly easily. So the point of all of this is... you cannot blame rosters, MMR, sharding or alliances (or lack of) in not getting where you need to be. Yes, they all play a part in it, but not enough to stop progressing. I am a f2p player myself, and that makes me work that much harder to get where I am at. I don't expect to have an outstanding roster any time soon. I know it will take a while. It is something to work towards for me, and a feeling of accomplishment. That's my two cents...
  • Only playing 3 hours a day? What MPQ are you playing? I'm sure many other players myself included can put in a heck of a lot more time than that on a regular day, not to mention the nonstop playing to get any decent reward on the day an event ends. Don't plan on accomplishing anything constructive if a pve and pvp event end around the same time otherwise you wont place well in either. I have a couple of 3* maxxed and several others just waiting on a cover or two. Its not so much hard to get those top level rewards, just insanely time consuming for the rewards you get. It's just a complete drag to have to slog through 212/141/141 to get anywhere in pvp because the transition from 2* - 3* is just not worth the time requirement anymore. Its cool as hell to have a beefed up roster, but if there isnt anything to just beat the piss out of, what is the point of staying "even" with everyone if you have to spend more time now than you used to, to maintain the status quo?

If only more characters meant more options and team diversity. Take for example Falcon, a new hero. How often do you see him on a team? Could it have to do with the fact he only has 1 useful ability and that one costs 12 AP? His blue is just OK and mostly against goons. What about Loki? Or Ragnarok? Or XFWolverine? Do I really need to continue?

For 200 days, with zero maxed 3star? It takes less time in "standard MMO semi HC raiding guild", where you can in fact socialize during play and feel some form of progress.
Introduction of "every 14 days new hero" cycle plus nerfed difficulty 1* -> 2* made this game P2W. I wonder how new players accept the wall 2* -> 3*. I was lucky I progressed from 1* -> 2* all the way from rewards.
