Cheating AI- PVP

I have seen one other thread like this but it was mainly about Ares. This one is more for all the problems people have faced with AI cheating in PVP.

During PVP I have noticed more than once the enemy team getting more AP than they should be. One of the worst experiences I had with this was just after the enemy team got a cascade of matches. The enemy team had a Thor and of course after the cascade he used his call of storm, still a little unbelievable because they only had 2 green AP before the cascade, but not impossible. But then Thor used his call of storm AGAIN straight away. Now after Using 2 call of storms in a row the enemy team still had 5 green AP left. Now even with a cascade there was no way they had just gotten about 31 green AP.

For me Thor has been the noticable cheat. But there have been moments where it seems other AI teams have more AP than they should but I can't be as sure because I didn't pay as much attention.

Also another problem I have been noticing lately is when my OBW makes a purple match that every now and then it will only give me one purple AP that I've stolen from the other team and not include the 3 match I made.

Also this isn't just people making excuses for losing either, there are to many comments I have read about the enemy AI team having more AP than they should and other problems.

Who else has expereinced this and what is the worst cheating AI moment you have had happen to you? I'm curious to hear other peoples stories about this.

I have experienced this issue with Ares.

The AI hit me with Onslaught (with 9 Green AP). I did receive 4 Green AP, but Ares still had 9 Green AP after the attack. So, the following turn, I got hit with another Onslaught (with 9 Green AP). Needless to say, I lost that match, but there is something wrong with AP count when playing Ares.
  • I have experienced ares all colors, Thor green, wolvie red, and obw purple cheating. I've heard people talk about juggs red and panther black cheating. Just figured I'd give the usual suspects. My worst cheating moment? Thor, with under 100 health left, hit me with all three of his abilities without the ap for any of them, killing my Hulk and making me lose. Thunder strike DID NOT give him enough green for call the storm

Just had my first experience with cheating AI in PVP. In the current hotshot event, My cmags and ctrew vs his and crew. Turn 3 with 4 pink his Cmags just cast trans location. Then next turn did it again, then again on the 6th turn. No the AI didnt get a god pink chain.

Yeah Thor seems to be the worst. I am always getting hit with his call of storm when they haven't even come close to make enough green matches for him to be able to use it. It could be happening with his other abilities too I just haven't noticed because I'm always focusing on his call of storm since that always gets me.

OBW stole 9AP of one colour from me despite not having nearly enough AP to activate the power.

Then Thor did 2x call the storm with no green AP.

    On turn 3.
  • I've been noticing it with juggs a lot on the current pve. He's pulling ap out his asscrack

I just posted a topic specifically for Lazy Thor as he just decked me in the face with Call the Storm costing him 7 AP...
  • I just had it happen to me with Ares this time. He used his sunder attack twice on me in 2 turns when there was no way he had gotten enough yellow AP, not to mention he had a couple yellow AP leftover aswell. As such I lost the match. Now I had been watching the matches in this one too because I knew how dangerous Ares can be, so I keep an eye on his green and yellow matches. During the match there was no way they had made over twenty yellow matches. The cheating in this game is getting out of hand and it needs to be fixed.

We haven't been able to reproduce this locally yet (which just means that it must be relatively rare and we don't have much information on it).

In the past, we've seen reports of this that resulted from players being confused by the way minions generate AP (each enemy minion generates a set amount of AP each turn, and the enemy team can use that AP right away), but that doesn't seem to fit with some of the reports in this thread.

This sounds rare and therefore hard to capture, but if anyone happens to get a play-by-play of this happening (a series of screenshots or a video capture), that would likely be helpful in tracking the problem down. Please PM me if you do.

I used to discount these bug reports too as people who can't count AP or are confused by the goon mechanic. But I count AP pretty carefully and have had "surprise" high-AP attacks pop off within 3-4 turns without the enemy hitting a big cascade. Because it's a surprise, it's always too late to check what happened, but I've seen it in both PVP and PVE. Good luck tracking this one down!

(Hey, maybe a chess-style turn log would help and be a pretty cool game feature)
  • How about starting with using the same method when displaying AP counts for players and AI?

Presently, for players, the AP count is updated before updating the battle grid.
For the AI, all the battle grid cascades + the powers are resolved with a single update of AP count at the end of all collecting and expenses (it makes it really hard to track what is happening sometimes).

It would help track bugs down and probably avoid some erroneous bug reports.
