Sooooo...
Does anyone else only attack people worth 40 points or more? If they retaliate, I just get another 40 points. I'm a pretty casual player, I usually place anywhere from 5th to 50th in all my events. 90% of the time I don't really want the higher prizes. Frankly, it's easy as hell. And some people just hold grudges. I found a guy almost 400 points ahead of me in the reinforcements tournament. And he just kept hitting me back. I farmed almost 300 points off that one guy alone today.

No, because I actually do stay toward the top throughout the tournament (mainly because I want the progression rewards, not just the ranking ones) and you're not going to find a 40 point target when you're at 800.
But, conversely, I do not retaliate against anyone that won't give me at least 23 points (which is more frequently 25 by the time I do attack, since they were on the way up) once I'm at 800 because I understand how the scoring system "works".0 -

Heh, yeah, I had a dude who kept hitting me again and again today. For most of the day, I only fought him, but he was clearly attacking others, so he'd attack me for 12-14 points, I'd retaliate for thirty. We'd do that a couple of times, then after an hour or two, he'd start attacking me again. Kind of odd. I actually ended up grabbing the 900 point progression reward, which I didn't really plan to go after, mostly because of the one guy.0 -

But that's just it. I attack two or three people I'm not worth anything to two or three times a day throughout the tournaments. At the end of the tournament, I'm at 800-900 points because the people like you never retaliated and then at the last minute I just smash my way through a couple people worth 30.0 -

Exactly. Just fishing for dumb people pretty much.0 -

You pushed me out of top10. Not that black Loki cover is worth anything. I could barely find any beatable matches worth some points.0 -

my bad. But I do remember you. *waves* hello person from inside the game. I was actually just after the double widow covers myself.0 -
This is why I don't attack people with 200 points less than me unless I can be sure that they won't retaliate. (Such as no villain in lightning rounds to go against mine)
It's just not worth it because you lose more points in the retaliation.0 -
Don't assume they don't always benefit though hehe.
For example, I'm just spending this boring evening farming ISO off the Top Gun tourney, basically looking for teams which I can kill under 1 minute (which is about 50% of the teams at this moment) and I just attack regardless of pointage. Sure it may come back to bite me when they start retaliating towards the end of the tourney... but I find ISO harder to come by than covers/hp.0 -

Eh. Wouldn't be so sure. I've retaliated against high level villains with Thor storm venom and just outright smashed them. Infinite combo for life. And I won't lie. When I see someone with a team like that I save them for the very end. Because I know they'll still be worth a lot later. Lol. I've never gotten first but I've picked up a few villain tokens and villain covers that way.Sooty wrote:Don't assume they don't always benefit though hehe.

As long as you're worth the points, keep right on farming me.0 -
Usually I have a number but it's more like 20. If you're top 15 there is no way you can find people who are going to give 40 points.
I say usually because this weekend, I'm just farming ISO using the level 6 hawkeye/bullseye with storm, so I'm just attacking literally everything.0 -

Pardon? That fails the sniff test.
You cannot use that team in the Lightning Rounds.
The particular match I was thinking of wasn't in lightning. But it was against a rag mags and c storm. It lasted maybe 3 turns. And sure the double hp wasn't there. But it proves how easy it is. A good bejeweled player controlling a cheese comp can stomp on the AI even without boosts. Bring me a max level team of 3 villains and I'm sure I can beat it with the the Thor storm+ free 200% enviorment tile Guy(which would probably make it easier). And my storm isn't even close to max.0 -

Lol. Next level strats. That's why I hover around 600 to 700 based on where the highest people in my bracket are at. So I can just farm up the last big amounts right at the end.0 -
Guy bragging about c.storm strats...lol0

I love seeing storm on teams at this point. Better her than someone with 5000+ health.0
