Once Upon a Time
Once upon a time there was a marvelous band of merry men (and woman) who acted as defenders of the universe. On every occasion they fought off the challenge of their mortal enemies, shrugging off their collection of toxic weaponry and laying claim to enormous supplies of gold.
Some of their members fought with wild abandon, others with stinging attacks. They could often be seen climbing on each others’ shoulders to reach heights that had never been seen before. One of their number chose to hose all-comers with fire, whether friend or foe. The most aggressive members had an unusual style of attack taking advantage of their magnetic personalities; others were not a patch on them. Others wondered at their cunning and dominance and they were admired by all who saw them.
One day the merry band grew tired, and sat back basking in their glory and to admire the monuments they had built.
Then the new challengers emerged – arriving suddenly and bringing gold acquired in foreign lands. They were determined to prove their strength against the old defenders and any other contenders.
Three of the challengers in particular stood out as 21st century warriors. The perilous traveler and his charge flowed through their enemies like water, and they worked together at electrifying speeds. Indeed some said that they worked so closely that they appeared as one, impossible to distinguish. They liked to fight in private rather than in public, darkening the doors of their enemies, and bringing their own guards. Some frowned on this new approach.
The challengers were successful, claiming victories and reaching new heights that had not been seen before. But the public were suspicious of these outsiders, disbelieving and they were not feted or admired. Led by some of the old defenders, the public shunned the newcomers and their families. Whether it be jealousy, distrust or fear, the outcome was the same - but the challengers cared not.
People urged King William for a public execution of the newcomers, perhaps to be frozen by ice, or buried alive in boxes. King William conferred with his government and his three philosophers and their greater knowledge, but took no action. Neither the new challengers nor the King needed to explain themselves, and this led to further civil unrest. A few citizens grew increasingly frustreated and threatened to withhold their taxes.
To be continued…….

**** off you cheating adjacent and blind-eye turning toad.0

Oh Mikey, you started in an alliance founded or run by someone who knows how to cheat and you've graduated to an alliance with cheaters.

So, two options.
1. You're ignorant
2. You're a liar
They say ignorance is bliss and you do not strike me as the happiest man on Earth, so I think we can rule out choice 1.
EDIT: My previous post could lead reasonable people to believe that I thought other members of [just] are cheating or know how to cheat. This could not be farther from the truth. I believe that all current [just] members play the game without cheating. I apologize for the tactless way I stated things in my first draft.0 -
Because you're a cheater by proximity.0

2 possibilities: your knights are billionnaire and are willing to spend an absurd amount of money into the game.. They re idiot but they re legit.. By bloating their scores, you feed off them to increase yours. Its p2w and i can understand you want to leech in..
Or (and i tend to believe this second alternative).. Your knights use illegitimate hack (infinite hack or stolen credit cards.. Sth fishy thats for sure) .. You may have your head in the sand but everybody and his mother know your knights are not legit.. I hope you ll stand up to your guys when they ll be sandboxed.. And that your poetry will be so lyric..0 -

Ouch, bro. We're certainly not cheaters are far as I know. And mikey was always a stand up guy. Although this post suggests he has gone to the dark side..
I'm not accusing you or locked of doing what the X-Men are doing. I am pointing out that Mikey, who claims to know nothing about cheating, spent time in your alliance with locked, who, as she has admitted though claiming to be f2p, created a "backup" account, loaded it with HP through steam hacks or iap cracker, and then either purchased her way into the alliance or actually created it with the fake account in the first place.
I have absolutely no doubt that she plays honestly now, but she knows how to cheat and there is no reason Mikey does not know either. The post was aimed at him, not locked. Unfortunately, admitting these things on the forum in plain sight of everyone was not a wise move on her part.0 -
It's really funny how we've seen number of top performing alliances, as well as a number of top performing players who frankly act like heels on the forums, and yet none of them got accused of being cheaters, but we randomly decided to get really angry and jealous of the X-Men, for absolutely no reason! How odd0

No reason? When people score over 800 to 1000 more points than everyone else...That is a reason...0 -

Hey I was just trying to be lighthearted in all the drama I obviously don't take the game as seriously as some folk out there. I suppose better to be swarmed by S.H.I.E.L.D in forum rep than in game! Maybe that's to come
As I've said before I'm not aware of anyone cheating in X-men (or Just!) and don't suspect anyone either. Doesn't mean I can vouch for them either, if anyone I play with is cheating they're doing it in a way that makes it look legit.
It's ironic that some of the most vocal complainers are the ones that know exactly how a few people can score crazy points if you've got the inclination and HP.
Anyway I'm all for D3 going through all the top alliances and players and rooting out any cheats.0 -

[Just] was a pay-for-your-slot alliance when it started. Locked didn't use an alternate account to buy it.
More on topic though, when Mikey was with us, I saw him score 1300 every event. I don't think that was anything more than what the xmen claim it is. However, the scores of over 2000? That's not the same. I'd like to think that our former ally is not up to anything nefarious, but at best, it certainly looks like there's something super shady going on behind your back, Mikey.0 -

You missed the part where she, who claims to be purely f2p, says she paid for her slot with a backup account stocked with HP. Her words. In the post. Quoted. Read.
I like her. Seems nice. Bought her slot with fake HP. Not the end of the world.0 -
Mikey is in no way a cheater, hes always been a good player. I have no idea what his alliance is doing but hes good. As for Locked, there is plenty of hp to be had even early on. Its not hard to gain some to spend on alliance slots but its true our alliance is very relaxed and we made our members pay for slots to join.0

You're a good guy, mikey, and your points haven't skyrocketed since joining that alliance.
But seriously, you don't think there's anything fishy going on with 3 people scoring over 2K points when you know how hard it is past 1200?0 -
Just to be clear on my F2P-ness and 'backup' money! (copy pasted from a PM)While my main account is indeed purchase-banned* on Steam, I used my Android account which is NOT purchase-banned by Google to fund 3 slots or so in our alliance back when we started out. I wanted to contribute to the alliance, and I didn't exactly want to farm prologue HP the hard way which would probably require more than one extra account anyway. If I could use my main account's Steam wallet, I would (I am adult, have a day job, a bank account and stuff), but I had to use the backup one which I created long before alliances even. I joined [Just] with my baby account which I bought Logan's Loonies with, was promoted to Commander rank by co-founders, bought slots, left and practically never launched the game there again.Mikey, I respect you a lot and would never think of you badly; if you have even a shade of doubt, leave X-Men; if not, I salute you and your loyalty, you have always given your best to the team you were affiliated with. I sincerely hope at least your reputation can stay markless.
* not VAC-banned; those who cheat in Steam games, especially Valve ones, get VAC-banned immediately; my trade ban has a completely separate story and is not connected to cheating, or fraud.
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198023023515 here's my Steam account, you may notice the lack of VAC-bans. Here's how one with a gaming ban looks like:

Oh and yes, my being F2P is somewhat technically incorrect since I did use money to progress (but only in the way of alliance funding). I just like to call myself F2P anyway as the alliance slots could be funded without me.
What my backup account looks like since forever:

Thanks locked. As i've said many times if someone is cheating in x-men then they are hiding it very well - but of course it's possible which is why we'd all like the dev's to look into it. Those that think 2k points are simply not possible without cheating don't understand the game mechanics well enough, or the appetite for some people to spend HP.
I'm sure if I left the x-men whatever the reason that would simply feed the **** mob
I'm still amazed that folk can get in such a lather over a match-3 game and so personal about others they know nothing about - suppose that't the internet generation. Hate to see how they would react to something important....0 -
Mikey, alas, I completely understand the accusers, even jozier (the sky indeed must be falling): they have never heard of most of you before and now these scores are surprising everyone, even the most willing to give benefit of the doubt. If there are cheaters with high scores in the game, you know that it affects a lot of players badly, it's a water ripple effect. Since Ice claims to be looking into this, I'm somewhat pacified and I hope that all is wrapped up *before* the end of the current Season.0
