multiple match : sequence of resolution

Hello !

When you make multiple matches in the same move, you know that they are not resolved simulteanously. First match deals damage, then second, ...
It's usually without consequence. But I just play a match where it annoy me (a little only icon_e_wink.gif )

- I cast the purple Magnet MN power
- I choose (wisely) my tiles : i make 3 match-5 that will generate 3 crit tiles (and surely a lovely cascade and a dead Rag icon_e_biggrin.gif ). The match-5 are in line (no L or T shape)
- Tap 'validation' and prepare for a nuke ... the first match-5 clear the entire line (normal) and cut another match-5, just in the middle ... OK, still 2 crits, a cascade and a dead Rag, but was not the firework I was expecting ...

So I wonder in which order the multiple matches are resolved. I think it's quite like the special tiles (from up to down , and left to right). But for a single tile it's easy to determinate position.

But for a L-shaped match, or a even simple match-3, which tiles is considered. I'm pretty sure it's the first tile encountered that trigger the resolution, and not the 'centroid'.

Have you the right answer ? Thanks !!!

I believe that he match made by the tile that you move is the one that resolves first. Similarly, the tile that you move also determines the character that will be out front after all matches, cascades, etc resolve.
  • I'm OK with this But in case of multpiple match formed after a cascade, or like in my case with MMN purple, they are "moved" simultaneously.

I think anything that occurs after the initial match disappears at the same time, but "resolves" in a manner which gives you the maximum damage.

So if you cascade gives you:

    Green|Green|Green|Critical|Red|Red

They'll both disappear at the same time, but the critical will apply to the Green tiles if it will give you more damage than if it applied to the Red tiles.

    At least that's my understanding.

This is interesting, since it's not always the case when the two crit-match possibilities are at right angles. For example, I've had the following:

    G
    G
    (*) R R
    G
    G

... proc as crit-R-R, then green match-4 when using LT (where crit + 4 G would clearly produce higher damage). So, my guess is that the relative orientation of things during a cascade also affects crit proc order.
  • Oh, i may not have well explained what I mean, my bad.
Imagine you make matches without moving a tile, like when you use MMN purple, or Thor red or yellow, that spam tile on the board (or desert enviro'). You can have multiple match. What determine the order of resolution ?

Another criteria could be the number of tiles involved : a match with 10 tiles explode before a match-3.
