Someone explain how this team beats mine, please.

EDIT: a new change has defensive victories show up as retaliations just like defensive losses (while unshielded). This change was not announced, and I missed the other thread mentioning it. It's my mistake and my bad for jumping the gun, so apologies to mrdogfather, thank you to those who pointed me in the right direction, and sorry for being confused.

Since this is an established member of Ace of Blades, it must be some wonky delay and not the actual team he used. There's no way level 1 one stars can win against 3*s as all three would die to the first enemy match.

Edit: please don't submit a ticket without talking to mrdogfather first, he is an active forumite.

Edit: oh snap look at his roster, lol, he has got 4 Yelenas, 5 mStorms, 4 mBWs, all with one cover, and some more level ones. That's some dedicated tanking!
  • too late to not submit :/, but i can always fill in details, either way, it's quite wonky.

I currently have a retaliation node in my shield sim, here's the team that beat me:

my team in shield sim is 115 ldaken, 141 cmag, 141 patch. I one hit any of his guys on 3 colors, and leave them with less than 20 health on the other 3. any cascade, match 4 or green match (strike tiles) would also one hit.

if people aren't using one hit kill cheats, please explain how on earth this is possible, since they wouldn't be able to get through patches healing even with the best of cascades. I will be submitting a ticket, but if there's a real explanation, i'd love to hear from mrdog, his alliance or anyone else about this.

I think the one hit kill is out in the wild and it looks like more people are starting to use it, so what's the solution here? i will submit a ticket for this specific case, but how do we catch the less egregious cases?

You did notice that teams that lost to you show up as red retaliation nodes now?

My guess is Dogfather used your team to tank against you and that he didn't beat you, but gave you points.

That's my guess as well. If we're meant to be able to retaliate against people who attack us no matter what, it'd be nice if D3 used different colours to signify whether we won or lost. Sometimes I click through the pop-ups too quickly to really notice.
  • oh, no, i didn't know that, and that explains it. weird that they wouldn't announce a change like that.

thanks, my bad, i'll go get it fixed up.

How icon_evil.gif DARE icon_evil.gif you cast aspersions upon the good character of one of our holy brethren lowly heathen!!

Your retractions and apologies matter not a whit. If you truly seek forgiveness and redemption you must prostrate yourself at our holy altar, bringing sacred offerings of lemonade and cookies to appease the wrath of our high priests, QT and AB.

Fail to heed my warning and prepare to face our HOLY WRATH of mild tutting!

    Amen.

(it's his tanking team, has that lineup 3 times over for suiciding sitting at the tail end of his roster. The change to retaliation nodes is presumably just there to be as confusing as humanly possible.)

17 level 1s. the rotation would almost allow you to tank non-stop for as long as you want.. and very quickly.

Question I have is how this change affects tanking. Because triple lvl 1 guys that are available for retaliation are going to get destroyed.

Does that accelerate the tank, or is it just free pts for whoever wins the tank lottery?

Both, although as far as I can tell defensive losses have less impact than attacking ones.

Guess announcing the Sunder bug as fixed swallowed all their announce quota. icon_evil.gif
  • don't underestimate storm/bw/yelena they are my dreamteam.
