Gelatinous Cube not triggering Imposter's Trickery [Investigating]

Tibalt's "Imposter's Trickery" triggers when an opposing nontoken creature or artifact is exile and creates a copy of the creature in play.
Gelatinous Cube says, "exile target opposing creature", etc..
However, when you use Cube to exile a creature, no copy of the creature is generated via Trickery.
