Lockheed doesn't create protect tile

I equipped Lockheed support with Kitty Pryde but he does not create protect tiles. The support shows the perk is active. I have tried various X-meb partners but none worked. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Did you equip it to Kitty Pride (the 5* Shadow Cat) or to Kate Pride (the 4* Red Queen)?  The Synergy perk to generate protect tiles is for Kitty, not Kate.

    I double checked, it's the 5* Kitty.

    It works for me, I took OML and Iceman, and she created 3 protect tiles at the start of the match.
    You are doing this in Story mode, right?  (Supports don't work in Versus.)
    It works with both versions of Kitty Pride.

    Ah, that's why! I mostly use Kitty in versus mode. The protect tiles are showing up in story mode now.
