How to save a team of two

I've inadvertently discovered a way to save a team of two characters.

Ignore if this has been covered.

I had xavier, switch, and crawler saved, because it's fun to play with...

Then switch was maxed and I sold her to recruit and start building her again...

And, boom, I now have a team of xavier and crawler with an empty middle... And can load the team with whatever essential is in a node.

My thinking is that you could even recruit a 1* in an empty slot, put it in the middle of a two character team you want to save, then sell the 1*.

It's working for me in honor among thieves, anyway.

If this has been covered and I missed it, sorry for the retread.

    Good call.  In the name of science I rostered a 1* Hawkeye and did as you stated.  It's the only team selectable in DDP node with the required 3*, so it looks good :)

    I just opened a token, recruited 1*juggs, made a team of juggs, okoye, and thanos...

    Saved it, sold juggs, then went into the blade versus...

    Looked at saved teams, and loaded the now two character team of okoye and thanos.  It placed them around blade.

    I think the only thing you have to watch for is having the character you sell in the middle slot so that it is empty, but I haven't tried it other ways.

    The spot stays empty.  I did it with one of my 2* characters when I cycled them.

    I just made this discovery and came right to the forums... glad to see it has already been shared! 

    As another has stated, you do have to make sure the character you will be selling is in the middle slot.  If it is in a side slot the team will not be able to be selected on a required character node or versus.

    In that case, I'll put my name in the hat for if they ever decide to make more 3* heroes.
