Karn Vanguard freezes nonartifact creatures [Couldn't Reproduce]

Hunter Coalition event, Greg drops a Karn Vanguard and it disables my thopters (in creature 2 slot of the battlefield, they are artifacts so this is expected) but also my nonartifact Rakdos (slot 1).  Opponent had no other supports on the field.  Rakdos was frozen for the rest of the game (about 6 more turns).

Anyone else have something similar to this happen?

    • Which card?

    • Type and Subtype;

    • Is it related to trigger, mechanic, text, or other?

    • Which Event/Battle?

    • BattleLog screenshot;

    • All cards in the deck and possible interactions that might have happened.
