Idea for character abilities

After so many characters that have released so far, I think in order for character to be more interesting, it will be good if the character abilities based on the idea listed below:

Ability that

  • Increase countdown timer (friendly/enemies)

    • So far only Bagman and 2* Black Widow can do this. As countdown tile creation is a big part of the game, we should have more characters from other tiers with this kind of ability

  • Decrease countdown timer (enemies)

    • We have ability that decrease countdown friendly timer but why not enemies on as there are characters that benefit more from countdown that last longer on the board.

  • Punish enemy when they matched charged tile

    • As charged tiles can benefit both yourself and enemies, it will be good to have passive that deter enemies from matching the charged tiles. For example, Lockjaw’s yellow abilities can be reworked to have this ability added to his yellow so that at least its green can work with his yellow passive.

  • Stop passive for X turns

    • With so many passive power running around, the only way to stop passive power from activating is using stun. I was thinking will it be a good idea to have someway to stop passive without stun. However, it may also be overpowered, especially when used against boss thus may need some condition to activate or something. Maybe let it only have 50% chances of activating at the start of the battle for 1 turn or something?

  • Does damage equal to % of damage deal to the user

    • Maybe a Hulk should be rework to have this ability as as Hulk get damaged, he get angrier and as he get angrier, he become stronger and deal more damage.

  • Punish enemies for their countdown/repeater tiles on board

    • Maybe deal damage x number of countdown tiles or when enemies’ countdown/repeater tick to 0 or tick down, deal certain number of damage

  • Confuse enemies by messing with the ability activation

    • When you use this ability, whenever enemies fire a power, the power will not fire but rather fire another power at random or not fire any power at all, or damage enemies themselves.

  • Use enemies' ability/take control of their ability/countdown tiles

    • Use by character that have mind-control ability. Moonstone used to have ability that take control of countdown tiles. Will be interesting to bring them back in a certain way. Maybe make the ability/countdown stolen/took control to be random so as not to be overpowered.

    Reduce/Increase repeater tiles.
    Coulson and Captain Marvel both reduce friendly countdowns, currently no one does the same to repeater tiles.

    Reduce effectiveness of enemy attack tiles.
    Venom (Eddie Brock) reduces the effectiveness of protect tiles and Black Suit Spider Man reduces the effectiveness of strike tiles, but no one affects attack tiles yet.

    These are some great ideas!

    Other ideas I thought of:

    Tile which in addition to tile effect (countdown, repeater, etc) will clone itself to another tile every X number of turns

    Tile which will create or remove a certain number of colored or effects tiles every X number of turns

    Black Bolt has a power that boosts a selected character’s powers for X number of turns.  Cloak and Dagger’s power does the reverse of this.  How about a variation of this - but instead of being driven off of the number of turns, being based on some other criteria (eg remaining as long as the team doesn’t fire a power - this would temporarily strengthen passive abilities, or remaining as long as a team doesn’t make a particular match - colored, effect tiles, etc)?

    And I love the puzzles/challenge that the Galactus or Kaecilius boss event creates.  Why can’t we do something similar, but as powers for new characters?  For example, a 5* character that can only be damaged after certain criteria are met.

    In lieu of a passive blocker; an ability blocker. Kinda like C&D's black. Pick an enemy power and shut it off. Shutting off Thor's green takes away his 1/2 health passive and his aoe. I just think there are too many things that can qualify as a passive that it would be impossible to shut off passive's all together.

    A defense power that caps the incoming damage per turn. If the enemy team gets a huge cascade, it does no damage after reaching the cap. If you are fighting against it, you have to fire powers in separate turns. Maybe has an incoming damage buff as well to balance.

    AOE Match damage

    Some other variation to matches. Wiccan has the only thing I can think of, where every match acts as a match 4. Might be impossible, but maybe some character can make a square match. Instead of 3 in a row its 2 x 2. Something dumb but it would allow them 4 ap matches every move, could be useful

    Beard Cap's purple works on active powers. You could block passives the same way. If a tile is out at the time the passive's conditions are being checked, that trumps it. Or something else - having X AP in a color, or X tiles of a color on the board, prevents passives which are on that color. Now, how would such a passive work in a mirror match...? :D

    Fair enough, however, his effect is different than Venom and Black Suit Spider Man's.

    5* Loki's purple works in this way - if you match away his black countdowns, they just multiply. Not on a timer per se, but functionally similar

    Tile which will create or remove a certain number of colored or effects tiles every X number of turns
    Gho5t Rider's hell ride repeaters nibble away specific colors of tiles every turn for 3X damage, and Silver Surfer's black hole thing does it randomly. Dr. 5trange's Orb of Agomatto does it to special tiles


    Confuse enemies by messing with the ability activation

    I had an idea in my head for a variation on this, where you can force an ememy to burn the AP it would take to fire one of their powers, but it would have a random dumb effect kind of like using one of Gwenpool's non-useful 'Sploits. This is, in effect, one of the "destroy n AP in enemy's strongest color" powers, but with a perhaps fun bit of flavor on it. Basically forcing them to fumble one of their moves
