Exiling Lich's Mastery via Improved Zhalfir's Fate (Teferi's 3rd ability) makes opponent invincible

Just as the title says.  I created the Improved Zhalfir's Fate token on my previous turn.  Turn 23, I draw which exiles the opponent's Lich's Mastery (the only valid target).  Targeted opponent with a 43 damage Beacon Bolt but the opponent's life total did not change.  All 3 of my creatures also dealt no damage.  This continues the rest of the game forcing me to quit.

Not sure if this also happens with the last level of Teferi's 3rd ability or not but I'm going to assume that it does.
