Should be playable without friendly creatures.

    This is a standard issue Oktagon cards have.  They often get confused between additional costs and additional effects (when the effects are non-targeted).

    Additional costs (like sacrificing a creature for Thud) means that there must be a valid target to cast.
    Additional targeted effects (target creature you control gets +1/+1) must have a valid target to be cast (in paper this us usually circumvented by wording it as "up to one target creature" instead)
    Additional effects (like "all your creatures gain lifelink") should happen regardless of how many creatures you control.  Instead, in MTGPQ it almost never does.

    We go over this every single set that comes out, since there is always a card or 2 that does not work as expected (Fraying Omnipotence in M19, Doomfall in HOU...ect).  Maybe someday it'll get figured out.
