*THE FIRST HOARD CRACK*
Ok, so I’ve got a cold beer, dimmed lighting and Captain America: Winter Soldier on the TV….
That can only mean that it’s time for a romantic night in with my phone (as my wife puts it). I now have 2600 CP and the goal is simple: to get two Black Bolt yellow covers and then stop. If I also get one black cover, great! If I get a couple of Loki covers and one Thor, even better! If I get a **** load of Medusas fabulous! If I get all Black Bolt green I may snap my phone clean in half.
I feel pretty nervous after 4/5 months saving, but here we go. Let’s pray that the God of Mischief is on my side…

OMG Extra Pull gave me Black Bolt B!!!! SOOOOOO Close!!!!! :O *Drops to the ground Kirk style* “Curse you God of Mischief!!!!”
Ok, so I didn’t snap my phone, that’s a good start. Let’s look at this rationally: 104 pulls and I got 14 - 5* covers that’s a draw rate of around 13%, not great, but ok. I got one bonus hero (thank God) which was actually the cover I needed.
At the end of all that my Black Bolt is now 5/5/1 with 1 saved cover. I think I will get past 300 covers on Medusa (who is sitting at 294 now, thanks to her 6 new covers) when I crack my LT hoard in two weeks. Hopefully I will get another bonus BB and that will allow me to change 3 covers for the yellow and then I can work on getting Medusa to 320 covers for the final yellow. It’s not ideal, but it’s not a disaster either.
Shame about the Thor covers, I got more than I needed and almost all yellow. He’s now sitting at 0/1/5, I doubt I will have much use for him, or be able to finish him, but you never know I guess…
Loki was quite successful at 1/1/2, a nice even spread. I would have liked to have pulled one more cover for him, but it’s only half time as far as I’m concerned.
Overall I’m a little disappointed, especially since it started off so well. But I am also quietly optimistic because I now know I can get my Black Bolt champed with a little work and I have a good chance of pulling enough Loki covers on my next crack. I am a little worried about Okeye, but we’ll leave that one up to fate.

Ok, so my daughter is asleep and my wife is out picking apples, time for another hoard crack! Granted it’s not quite as romantic as last time but I’m just too excited to wait….
This time I’m pulling my 182 LTs. I do have some CP as well but I’m saving that for other HfH offers (just bought a OML cover, he’s 5/4/1 now). I’m very much looking forward to cracking this hoard, as having my Black Bolt at 5/5/1 – level 420 has improved my game experience no end and really made me enjoy the game a lot more. I’m also excited to get some champ levels on my 4*s now that so many 5*s have feeders.
For those of you who don’t remember, or can’t be bothered to read all the previous posts; my Loki is at 1/1/2, Okeye is at 0/0/1 and Wasp is at 1/0/0. I am still holding out hope that Wasp will be fixed, but obviously I am pulling for as many Loki and Okeye covers as I can get, with a view to finishing them over the coming season. My bonus hero is Black Bolt because I need one more cover for him to get 3 saved covers. The other BB cover I can get from Medusa when she hits 320. Here we go!

So, after 4-5months of hoarding I got:
Black Bolt 5/5/2 – Awesome! So pleased with him and my Medusa is now 309 so she’ll get to 320 soon enough.
Loki 3/2/5 – Surprised I didn’t get more covers for him, but he’s going to be in for ages. I’ll level him and enjoy playing boosted this week anyway.
Okeye 2/3/4 – Not bad at all! I think I could finish her this season with a little luck.
Wasp 5/3/3 – No surprise at all that she is the most complete of the 3! I am pretty sure they are going to sort her out and make her awesome though. I mean, think about it…. Loki’s in tokens… what could be more mischievous than that?
189 pulls and I got 24 - 5* covers. That’s about a 13% draw rate again, so slightly under, but not too bad. I got 1-5* bonus cover and 15 - 4* covers, the later was quite a pleasant surprise.
Closing thoughts: I will update the tread as the season goes on, just in case anyone wants to know how this all turns out. As for the original question; is 300 pulls accurate? Well, not really for me, but I did split my pulls to get Black Bolt. That said, I am still happy I took this approach and I am now going to enjoy this season a hell of a lot more because I will be chasing something. Plus, there is nothing like the rush of opening a hoard! I will definitely hoard again, just for that feeling!
I was worried about levelling Black Bolt to 420 as I heard people say levelling 5*s too high ruins their PVP experience. Although since doing that I have seen more teams with one champed 5*, Black Bolt has been able to hold his own and actually, two good four stars are able to win if I play well. I guess the lesson is; if you only have one 5* to level make sure it’s a good one before you do it! I’ve got to say that I am enjoying the game much more since levelling him and I still find my 4*s very useful.
I will update my roster ASAP, as I may well need some advice on who to spend my ISO 8 on. Thanks for reading, if indeed you still are!
