Following the Dominaria update, Depths of Desire now casts anyways if you select Not Now. No target for it. It'll just spawn the single treasure token.

    I ran across this too. I hadn't actually used the card before, so I didn't know this was new behavior.

    Happening in the Azor's Gateway fight of Bot4T event as well when Greg gets it in hand.

    I have been struggling with this too.
    Depths of Desire now executes when I choose 'not now' and no creature has been chosen.

    It might be a feature, as it turns it 6mana for a treasure. Not great, but better than it taking up a spot in your hand, plus treasure synergy.

    when I choose  NotNow , the card should not be put on play. period

    All spells with secondary effects work like this.  Your "not now" cancels the main effect, but the secondary still triggers.  Its definitely not right, though.

    For now just suppress all spells you don't want cast that turn, no matter how far down your hand they are.
