On-screen cascades

Has anyone else noticed the AI hitting more on-screen cascades since the latest update? I think the AI might actually be able to see them now. When I end up leaving one in my opponent's color(s) it's almost always the match the AI takes.

Had one today aginst a Samut that totaled over 300 Mana then I was promptly one-shot1

As far as I can tell ,Greg cascades as much as he ever has . It's definitely not more , because events have been much easier since the update . Cascades just happen. Comes with the match 3 territory.2

Well, maybe. Greg's cascading mana gains depend on both on-screen cascades (those you can see in advance of the move being made) and off-screen cascades (those you/Greg can't see in advance, whose chance of triggering is roughly proportional to how many gems you break). Greg breaks less gems since the update, and off-screen cascades seem reduced. As for on-screen cascades, I've also seen a couple of cases since the update where it looked like Greg might have been deliberately hitting a visible cascade, but it's hard to say whether this is now considered by the algorithm or if Greg just got lucky.Sirchombli said:As far as I can tell ,Greg cascades as much as he ever has . I've never been bricked so badly as in Hour of Devastation. A few things I've noticed... I'll get only a loyalty match, the colors are abundant for the AI so after I match my 3 loyalty gems he'll cascade around 50 mana with 2-3 extra swaps, and my only color swap will blow up my only support. I believe Greg has knowledge of the dropping gems at the initial match as he'll pass over the obvious match. Just a rant on a Sunday afternoon.0

I opened a thread about this very same subject, it's called 'The lucky Greg' and it has been very polemic... The general opinion from the people who know more than me about how the game works, is that our brain is a biased tinykittyAeroplane said:I've never been bricked so badly as in Hour of Devastation. Generally speaking, people’s brains are biased tinykitty. Heuristics, while imperfect, are much more energy efficient than deterministic approaches. That energy efficiency means it can win out in the long battle of evolutionary traits. So it’s in our nature. Nothing wrong with admitting it and trying to be aware of when it steers us off course.0 -

The problem is unless someone takes the time to actually log and track all of the mana gains, it's impossible for us to separate perceptual bias from actual events.
It has FELT like Greg cascades more frequently recently, but I'll be damned if I'm going to take the time to see if that's my imagination or not.

This was the start of a turn that went from an empty AI board, to a turn that gained 530 mana (no joke), summoned 2 GR, a 15/15 Ulvenwald Hydra (didn't come down till the very end of the turn), and a War Pig. It was legendary so the matches were gaining slightly more mana but the double mana is only applied to the base mana gains before bonuses are added (I think at least). Needless to say she promptly one-shotted me. I'd love to show the name of the player since it is very apropos but alas I cannot.0
