Suggestion for new Planeswalker's card pools.

Might be far-fetched but couldn't the developers change the text of some cards in previous sets to increase the card pool for pirates and dinosaurs. There are quite a few rogues and minotaurs that could add the text of pirate. There are various crocs and lizards that dinosaur could be added. This would entice people to buy the new planeswalkers, create a variety of decks, and I believe enhance the experience in battles. vampires already have a diverse pool. Merfolk might be a bit harder but what the heck.

Previously, I assumed they could never do this because they were beholden to certain representations of Wizards of the Coast's cards; if something was an Orc Pirate, it had to be a Orc Pirate in game.

However, I noticed the other day that Fell Flagship is a Vehicle Pirate (in paper it's just a Vehicle), which shows they CAN make changes. I've been wondering if that was an accident or not.

My thoughts were centered more around changing the planeswalkers to have a deck slot that allowed dinosaurs or pirates of any color into that deck.

They could always introduce changelings to mtgpq, that would help all tribal decks run a bit smoother :)

Over a year ago I suggested that there needs to be heroic encounters for each PW, and when you complete all of these planewsalkers heroic encounters at 100%  you unlock that PWs SPECIAL which alters their deck limits.
Some PWs are specialists in one area. With their PW powers specific to a creature type it is only fitting that they get to try this to all colors of creatures instead of being restricted to the ones that is the same color as the PW.
This will give no benefit to some since all creatures of that type are already in their color identity, such as with Arlin Kord (R/G werewolves), Saheeli rai (thopter/vehicles are colorless), Sarkhan (currently all dragons are red). However some have lots to gain.
Sorin - any vampire allowed in deck construction (only gains a few straight red vampires)
Liliana2 - any zombie allowed in deck construction (easily doubles the zombies available to her)
Tezzeret - any color support allowed in deck construction (this should be capped to up to 2 supports of any color)
Gideon Ally - any Ally creature allowed in deck construction
This is even more relevant now that IXN is a set based on 4 tribes.
Bolas is the colors of Pirates, Kiora for merfolk, and Sorin for Vampires. However the dinosaur PW Huatli is WR (and in the next set there is a WG version). Huatli should be allowed W/R/G dinosaurs.

I actually like these ideas a lot. After all, there's nothing keeping you from using whatever color combination you want in paper. Admittedly, that might get pretty insane for PQ. But at least these suggestions offer a built-in restriction (in that you can only have certain types of creatures, for instance).

They made Hixus a support. Swords aren't colorless. They have flexibility if they want to use it.

In the Bolas suggestion, he happens to be the best planeswalker for pirates because he happens to cover the right colors but his boost should rightfully be around Dragon or Zombies. Vraska should see the pirates tribe exposed.

Maybe Bolas could use any card with eternalize? They're supposed to be his creations after all.

Nice!  Set appropriate too!  And it’s five white and one green creature. None of which make Bolas any more dominant than he already is. (Although the green Khenra is a tad overpowered with its current bugs).

I feel like, for balancing purposes, if they decided to implement this, it would have to be a unique pool of cards that are generally generic to the colors of the tribe, or are tribe specific just to make sure they're not breaking things. Like, maybe you could have that Bolas eternalize deck, but then Bolas might be limited to only cards from Hour of Devestation, and a few from Origins and Amonkhet for his pool. Basically make them kind of like a premade deck plus sideboard you can pick from so that they know the decks will be balanced, but also buildable.

Orrrrr.... Have things like this in the PREMADE decks. Have an _awesome_ premade deck for Huatli that includes green enrage dinos.
You can't actually make it yourself, but you can _play_ it if you have all the cards!

(The new premade decks aren't even decks, they are just random cards, they are not even vaguely playable compared to the original ones. the whole concept needs fixing, and if we aren't allowed to unlock them to do what we want then at least make them awesome things we couldn't normally do)
