For 3* Thor? The twirly icon is the worst power in the game visually. Do we have to wait until Ragnarok?

    Honestly it's well WELL overdue a new asset. It should be much like 4* Thor's move. Hammer in the air, lighting connecting with it.

    In the past they have updated the artwork for Wolverine and Spider-Man, so it's possible, but Thor's art isn't anywhere as bad as Wolverine and Spider-Man used to be.

    That was a long time ago though, when they weren't releasing characters as frequently.  Also, the Wolverine art change helped make Wolverine and Daken a bit more distinct.

    Consider the release of 4* Captain Marvel: she's effectively wearing the same costume as he 3* counterpart (although a slightly different interpretation of the comic art), but has a different hair cut.  If that's enough to make a new variant, then any art change is.

    If they were going to pay an artist to make new art and animations for Thor and/or Hulk to go with the next movie release, do you think they're more likely to use them on the existing characters that everyone already has, or create a new one that people will probably spend money to cover?

    It was a while ago but the 2-week character release schedule has been going on for a long time since the days of 3-stars. Wolverine art update was just before OML came out so it definitely was done when they already implemented the 2-week release schedule. Spider-Man update was much later after it was confirmed that Sony and Marvel Studio had a deal to put Spider-Man in the MCU. Obviously I agree it makes more sense that they would spend money on assets of new characters rather than updating old ones, but they have done it in the past so it's not out of the question.

    The Spidey art was changed right around the rollout of a new comic called Spidey.  It is new continuity, and all-ages.  The art in game is close to that version, so that may have been the reason behind his art update.  I also think the new game art makes Spidey look younger, another goal for the character at Marvel, probably.

    My bad. Could have sworn they were closer together. Still, it was a huge art update that wasn't earning them any direct revenue from new character sales.

    Also, they redid 3-star Cap's face like 4 times for no apparent reason. That was interesting.
