PSA: HOU cards not included in hoarded AMK packs

The new HOU cards are in a separate card pack category, so all of your hoarded AMK packs will only pull from the AMK card set without HOU cards.

disgraceful, if true.1

Very true, but actually makes sense considering the amount of new cards. Would still have been nice to know beforehand.0
-
Man, aint this some bu******1
-
Can we get confirmation that hoarded AKH packs do NOT have cards from HOU?0
-
Confirmed.. just look in the cards you can loot from the packs... no HOU.
Anyway, probably a good thing for the game... all new cards will actually be new. But super annoying they didn't communicate this to us.

Thanks. Sigh... yeah, would have been nice to know.0

I feel sorry for everyone that saved their packs, but this is much better for me personally. Now my new cards won't be dups.1
-
Edited because I'm dumb0
-
Boy do I hope this is true. All 15 of my horded packs only gave me AMK cards, then the category disappeared when I had claimed them all.0
-
My understanding is that when you get a pack, it's locked into the 'type' of pack it is. When they add new sets, the 'type' on the new packs changes.0
-
That's odd. I opened 49 packs of AMK and didn't get one HOU.Mainloop25 said:This is not true at all, I have pulled HOU cards from hoarded AKH packs.

It does annoy me to a degree, but at the same time there's a silver lining, in that now we KNOW we can mass-open our AKH boosters without worrying they're going to add something new in the future. (you know, exclusive cards and such)Gilesclone said:I feel sorry for everyone that saved their packs, but this is much better for me personally. Now my new cards won't be dups.0 -
I prefer it in separate packs personally. Only it's not so great they pulled AKH from the store without warning.[arNero] said:

My mistake!
But I agree with you1 -
I foolishly listened to this conversation:Are reward packs going to have the new cards right away or are you going to do the "limited time only" increased chance / there are really two different sets of cards thing like you did with the AKH additions?@Brigby: I reached out to the developers, and they informed me that reward packs will contain the new cards when the set arrives. This includes the Free Daily Boosters too!
Maybe I misread something in there?0 -
There is nothing inaccurate in there, just more double-speak. There are reward packs which contain the new cards. It's just not the AKH packs as the question had implied. That is simply how their communication works.UweTellkampf said:I foolishly listened to this conversation:Are reward packs going to have the new cards right away or are you going to do the "limited time only" increased chance / there are really two different sets of cards thing like you did with the AKH additions?@Brigby: I reached out to the developers, and they informed me that reward packs will contain the new cards when the set arrives. Bad communication works both ways.
Nowhere in that quoted question did the guy asking the question talk about AKH reward packs.0 -
I think that allowing people to target the set they want is a positive change. I do wish they'd, you know, alerted us to it ahead of time, but that's an unrealistic expectation these days.

My guess is that D3 realized players were hoarding their packs from the initial big set and waiting to open them when the smaller second set hit.
This meant people were spending fewer gems/$$$ to obtain new cards.
By separating the sets into individual packs, they guarantee people will spend more currency to acquire the latest cards.
This makes a lot of sense, and from a players perspective, I'm ok with separating the sets.
Just wish this had been communicated. I mean, geez, they still haven't mentioned anything regarding this change.

Hi Everyone. I believe there might have been some confusion with the interpretation of the phrase "reward packs." I interpreted "reward packs" to be the packs that are rewarded to players from events, as opposed to vault/purchased packs. Following that logic, there are of course new events that will provide reward packs containing the HOU card set.UweTellkampf said:I foolishly listened to this conversation:Are reward packs going to have the new cards right away or are you going to do the "limited time only" increased chance / there are really two different sets of cards thing like you did with the AKH additions?Brigby: I reached out to the developers, and they informed me that reward packs will contain the new cards when the set arrives. Having said that though, my response was never meant to be "double-speak," or purposeful miscommunication, and I apologize for any confusion I might have generated from this interaction.0
