Brigby - Limited Vaults - Can we get input?

Why not make them 5 day vaults and use the DDQ Clash list delayed by 1.
That is, current DD4* is Deadpool, so there's definitely a Deadpool cover in the DDQ Vault. Once that cycles, run a 5 day Deadpool vault so that people get a second chance at grabbing a cover. (Yes, yes, I know it would be better for players if the featured vault ran before the character was featured in DDQ, but lets also be realists here)
If the featured vaults stick to the same cycle as DDQ then that creates a specific time frame where people know they have multiple opportunities at pulling a cover for any given character.0 -
The only input they care about for these limited time vaults are the metrics they receive as to who is buying and who is not. As long as people continue buying, they have no incentive to change the price tag.0

As a serious reply, I think running 3 simultaneous vaults (1 with each color of the featured character) would be a great solution.
Need that 1 cover color? Buy one vault (or a few cracks at it). Want to whale that character? Well, whatever - buy 3 vaults if it tickles your fancy.0 -

When it comes to the duration of the vaults though, to my understanding it's for 2 reasons:-

Players who don't log on frequently will have a lot less HP than those who do.
A week isn't enough time to accumulate enough HP to take advantage of them.

There sure is! That button in the upper right corner that allows players to purchase($$) HP.
The game is designed to give out some HP but not enough for the normal player to be able to purchase slots & vaults. Players can be close which encourages buying HP.
Promoting buying of HP is what the vaults are designed to do. That might be one of the reasons dailies were removed.
You expect Brigby to come out and just state that? It's a continuing mystery why alot of forum posters can't grasp the free to play business model.0 -

Most of us know how F2P works. Brigby's response for the 7-day long vaults is so we can save HP from playing. Clearly that's not possible. I can deal without the single pull and I completely understand why they removed it, but I figured I would still inquire about it. My two main issues are the length of the vault and the static cover. There are actually players that want to buy these vaults but they can't because they already have 5 covers of a character. It also does not help that these vaults are ridiculously long at 7-days, it will take forever to finally see the character/cover you want/need. As a result, players are now suggesting alternatives such as 3-vaults (1 of each color) or setting the vault to 5-days to match the DDQ Crash with that cover. I have also previously suggested having the 4* PVE essential be in these vaults. These suggestions make sense. The dev's random vaults do not.
Again, we're trying to give them suggestions on how to sell these vaults. If we do not ask, if we do not make suggestions then nothing will change. Keep in mind that many changes that are implemented in this game are based on our feedback. Sometimes it takes a long time for them to listen or figure out a way to incorporate our ideas. Therefore, discouraging players from voicing their opinions is not helping. Either join in with positive feedback or simply ignore it. Thank you.

Well for the length of time I assume it is because:
1) not everyone logs in every day plus people go on vacation etc.
2) Development on this system seems to be surprisingly time intensive so a 3 day rotation may not even be viable financially.
Personally given the current pricing structure I feel they need to stick to Characters like Nova because there is no way I'm spending that kind of money on Mr Fantastic or the Incredibly Awful Hulk.0 -

And that's true! The point of the forum is not just for community discussion, but also for allowing the players a platform to express their feedback. While it may be primarily myself that's the most visible on our end, rest assured that both D3 Go! and Demiurge actively peruse threads to get a better idea of how to improve the game. Time is also another factor, as sometimes the team might really like a community-submitted idea, but they need to figure out how to incorporate that from a development standpoint (programming capability, design balancing, UI design, etc etc.) All of that takes time.0 -
The vaults are not useful to me personally, but if it's making them lots of money, then I am fine with them existing in their current form. I don't need to see them removed or improved.
I do generally make enough HP from regular play that I could buy them out every now and then, but I tend to save my HP for truly special vaults, such as the PVP Matchmaking vault. From that one, I won three XFDPs, so that was nice.0 -

And that's true! The point of the forum is not just for community discussion, but also for allowing the players a platform to express their feedback. While it may be primarily myself that's the most visible on our end, rest assured that both D3 Go! and Demiurge actively peruse threads to get a better idea of how to improve the game. No I don't expect him to say: LOL UR MEANT TO SPEND, SUCKAZ! But when he mentions "accumulating HP", it would seem to imply he's talking about in-game methods.0 -
The problem with these vaults isn't really the price point, although the price point is definitely a bit on the dismal side. The problem is the fact that without a single pull option or the ability to reset them, they don't feel like vaults in the first place. They aren't *fun* like this. They have no play to them.
They're a very slightly better deal than buying 1-ofs of heroic tokens. That's fine, but hardly something to get worked up over. The announcement every week is kinda like the mailbox full of grocery store ads telling you that you can get 5 cents off every can of green beans you buy this week. It's fine, but I'm only going to actually do something about it maybe once a year, and there are sure an awful lot of exclamation points in the ad for something so mundane.0 -

Its a pretty awful vault though. There isn't a single cover in there I'd be remotely pleased about getting, even for free.0
