I wish the bottom reward was something other than Purple Howard... I want to champ my 3/2/5 Howard this time around. Oh well, I can usually swing top 20 and the blue cover there would be very welcome.0

You should be able to nabas progression next event. And Webbed Wonder had a
first run,
second run. Hopefully that means
for this run. That'll give you 4/3/5 with a
on the side. Good luck on Top 20!

Between the guaranteed covers, placement rewards and possibly a bit of luck with the Webbed Wonder vault I should be able to pull this off.

Hm. I’ve been in the process of maxing and champing Wasp (should be done in another day) since I got so many extra covers from the past two events. And while she’s actually better than I was expecting, given the normal board rumblings on her, I’m very disappointed that she really doesn’t have any synergy with Antman. Their yellow and blue just stumble over each other too much that its an actual hassle to run them together. Which is shame, with both of them boosted this week I thought it would be fun to use them as a team.
They do both go well with 4* Carol though, especially Wasp. Her blue passive is constantly triggering Carol’s yellow passive for lots of buffs. (especially if you have a OML to team with them). Same with Antman’s yellow with Carol. I’ll have to fall back to 4*Thor/IM40 as the event goes on, but they’re fun for now.0 -
Ah.. it's events like these I wish JG and SW were still boosted0

Considering going CL6 instead of 8 for this run since my War Machine red
is already maxed, & my Howard could use more non-purple covers (with
offered at the lowest qualifying reward tier for both individual & alliance play) currently sitting at 1-1-3). If I can hit T20 or possibly T10, more Howard covers should be easier to get.
Any comments or suggestions? Posts on when the second slice for CL6 flips would be great. Thanks in advance.0 -

You'll pull a random colour purple Howard now. Worst case, it's purple and no luck. Worst worst case, it'll be like the Chulk random colour and get added as a second Howard recruit

Edit - I'd forgotten about the joy that is the Ares node with two Mutations that are both feeding him red and green. Because who doesn't love getting Rampaged every third turn? At least it's not Carnage...yet.0 -
Any suggestions on a fast clearing team for this event? Using champ prof x, champ switch and a lvl 340 oml for the non required nodes. I've got all boosteds champed except for the newer 4*s: riri, 4cap Marvel and war machine; it's taking me about 2 hours for the 4x clear and an hour and a half for the event end node clear down to 1 point. I'm missing some synergy here and would hope to trim clear times down by half an hour each for the next subevent? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.0

beyonderbub wrote:Any suggestions on a fast clearing team for this event? Using champ prof x, champ switch and a lvl 340 oml for the non required nodes. I've got all boosteds champed except for the newer 4*s: riri, 4cap Marvel and war machine; it's taking me about 2 hours for the 4x clear and an hour and a half for the event end node clear down to 1 point. I'm missing some synergy here and would hope to trim clear times down by half an hour each for the next subevent? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I have been going well with 4* Thor, IM40 and Moon Knight. Moon Knight covers the 3 colours that are neglected by the battery/wrecking ball combo of IM40 and 4* Thor and I am actually surprised by how often Moonsilver Blades and Fist of Khonshu come through for the win from the unboosted Moon Knight.0 -
People in my bracket are going after Howard hard. I had thought that a top 100 might be feasible after seeing a few people say they'd have a weekend off in the announcement thread, but after three subs of four non-optimal clears and check marks on the trivials I'm only in 120th with ~2k to 110th. I have no idea what Top 100 would take, but it's safe to say that it's more than I'll do.
That said, I'm not sure if it's the charcter boosts or something else, but Venom bomb has been much more enjoyable for me than previously. Only the red-fed Moonstone have really been a chore and there's very few of those.
Good luck to everyone still going seriously.0 -

On my top 100. I missed first sub (not even complete 4 clears on every node). But in the last 2 subs i went on 7 optimal clears. Should be in top50-100 (in the end of 3rd sub I was 82nd).0 -
D'ya know, I never remember how much I dislike this event until I get to Carnage.
Every enemy turn is so long, so protracted, so ponderous watching countdown timer, RAWR, another countdown, RAWR, Passive fires off, maybe another passive...pause...Carnage makes a move...pause...attack tiles fire...pause...and now it's my turn. I make a match that doesn't cause a cascade and then I wait another 10-15 seconds for the enemy to get on with it again.
These fights just take forever...and with this week's boosted characters I can't seem to find a truely reliable fast combo. Thor and IM40 doesn't feel as punchy...and I always seem to lose countdown timers through cascade nonsense. Professor X and Scarlet Witch with Ant Man isn't bad, but the number of times the thing's about to fire off and gets surrounded by attack tiles, or the timer gets shoved on the side or in a corner so it doesn't generate a 5 just makes it take even longer.
This event more than most feels like a massive grind. I really feel the slowness when there's no AoE 4* boosted for the week.0 -
Personally I wasn't loving this event half as much until carnage turned up and made my champed Doc Oc worthwhile, I find the earlier ones harder with the other powered up 3
that are on offer this week... I've never voluntarily used Sentry before either who is turning out to be quite a beast.

FWIW, I have been having a ton of fun this Venom Bomb using boosted (champed) Professor X, boosted Daken and (non-boosted but champed) Star-Lord. SL is just there to reduce AP costs, so you can turn Prof. X invisible with just two purple 3-matches (especially if you're going against goons) and then the Professor can start buffing tiles, including Daken's strikes.
Using this team against Carnage was super fun. You get Carnage's attack tiles pretty early and if you get Prof. X invisible fast, you're buffing those attack tiles to insane levels.0
