Gold planeswalker symbol on coalition pictures

What are the little gold planeswalker tabards on top of some coalition pictures? Do they mean anything? Will there be other colors?

    Have you asked if other members in the coalition see it? Maybe only the coalition leader sees it.

    I have not yet, but I can see it on other coalitions when I search for them (and not on others).

    Its not something as simple as public verses private coalition is it?

    I would assume that means that everyone in the coalition is at least gold tier, but who really knows...

    I would assume that means that everyone in the coalition is at least gold tier
    Definitely not; I'm silver in 0blivion and our coalition has one

    It looks like the symbol is awarded to coalitions ranked in the top 1000. Just clicking through "Random" on the coalition list I've noted that all below 1000 have it and above don't.

    A few more clicks have shown one at 997 with it, and one at 1005 without.
