Current state of defensive teams

So far we have been able to establish that whatever your team was at the time of the glitch (noon EST) is your permanent defensive team for the Torch event.

A poor member of our check was # on cc and is now a permanent cupcake, even after two hops.

    This opens up some interesting possibilities. Uberwhale champed Red Hulk teams that would otherwise be too annoying to fight, for instance.

    So if I were to queue you now diaches, I would get whatever defensive team you had live at 12pm edt. But how many points would I get for fighting you? Would I get your current total, or are the node values also locked at 12pm levels?

    What about people who enter Post 12pm? Will their first team be their permanent defensive team?

    In any event, if these new reports are true, the events today look more like a server-side bug.

    My working theory is that PVP has lost the ability to form new memories (anterograde amnesia).

    PVP server experienced some trauma at noon ET and is now frozen at that time?

    Also a report of outdated points on qs, but the server lag on the queue score "guesstimates" have always been wonky so hard to be sure...

    The idea that such a surgical snafu would occur so soon after HiFi's ominously vague "We're coming for your cakes" post, on a Friday ... all of which jive perfectly with players' paranoia and confirmation bias, brings this guy to mind ...

    My phone died so can't check LINE this second but I'd swear people were switching queues in s3 after the bug.

    The gist of what I got was that your defensive team was (re)set every time you shield.

    "It only affects 0.4% of the playerbase" This will pass. No biggie... Right?
    (it's a joke from the grandfahtered ISO exploit, not really 0.4%, I don't want to get into too much trouble as it looks like they are swinging that ban hammer quite loosely)

    So what you're saying is that we need to start tattooing clues about our scores and shield status on the server after each match?

    i wonder what happens for loki pvp, if this bug persist. and if d3 can fix it by end of today since it's friday and they don't work on the game during weekends.

    That would actually be cool. Then I could set my PVP Defensive team to my strongest team and use all those fun glass-cannon teams for my offense. (even though they might end up getting crushed when I attack lol).

    I don't know about the cupcake situation, but I do know I fought a lot of people worth 2-4 points that were showing up in my queue without me waiting to hit them for 40-60 points. I can't imagine they were hit that hard in the 2 minutes it took me to finish the match to go from 60 points to 4.

    it can if they had their CC out and not shielded.heard someoen went down 800 points breaking shield in end of pvp and got hammer by peeps who save them and also wide open shield. this was before today's debacle.

    This is ridiculous. I shielded on a soft team and now when I reset to my A-Team my soft team keep showing up. I'm getting murdered And definitely losing top 10 possibly top 1.. And still no word from the devs!

    Sounds like offseason, when people aren't shielding.

    Perhaps people "ragequit" the event, didn't bother refreshing shields, based on the issue with defensive teams.

    Any players exposed who's worth points in the final hours will drop like a stone. The qs on your device, including the first several skips on each node, may date to your last hop, especially if you left the app open.

    I did it once thinking I would be done with the event. At the end I needed one more win to get T5. Tried a quick jump in the last 3 minutes hoping no one would find me and hit me in time. Won a 56 point match but came out to a negative -350 or so. Live and learn.
