Tried it 4x with a 111 3/2/3 with a myriad of boosts and lost. Got him to 3k at one point.
Used some ISO to bring him to 130, and won with +4 Black AP boosts on the first try.

    Prize was a redflag.pngicon_thing.png
  • Took maybe 10 tries, finally beat it with my 111 1/2/2. Used up 30 g/b damage boosts, 15 20% damage boosts, and 12 g/b stockpiles. The winning battle I had 2 active red countdowns burning him, and got off maybe 3 or 4 greens. Had a few lucky 5 matches that let me get some big damage critical 4 matches. Didn't even need to use penance stare! Got an elektra black cover out of it.

Won on my 8th try with a 133 3/4/1 Ghost Rider. Still not sure how I did it.

    For boosts, I used + 100% match damage, +2 G/B, +2 R/Y to give me a little help.

I was able to fire off green and red twice during my winning match, providing ongoing damage. Still, I found myself sitting at 1400 health against G's 6400, at which point I had to use my one Penance Stare, which took him down to 2800. Then it was just dumb luck, where we traded turns and I'd desperately try to take out his CD tiles while hitting him for 700/turn. I had 178 health left when he eventually died, and I feel I lucked out.

For the heck of it, I looked at the other 19 players I could see on the DDQ scoreboard (all tied at 29999, so they all beat the fight) to see what their GRs looked like. Here's a sampling:
    (283 5/3/5) (272 3/5/5) (271 5/3/5) (229 3/5/3)
    (200 2/5/5) (177 5/2/2) (156 5/1/1) (152 2/1/4)
    (147 0/4/2) (141 2/2/4) (140 4/4/5) (140 2/5/5)
    (137 4/4/5) (131 3/1/2) (131 3/5/5) (130 3/2/3)
    (120 4/4/5) (110 2/5/5) (106 1/3/3)
Plenty under 150, but 18/19 had 2+ covers in Penance Stare, which I feel is the key to winning this one.

Anyway, I got a redflag.pngicon_falcon.png for my trouble, bringing him to 2/3/3, and my record for Cycle 3 to 14-7.

2/3/0, LVL 127 - really sucked not having pennance stare, but I got a bunch of matchable CD tiles on my fourth attempt, +50% r/y dmg, +50% b/g dmg, +2 all and won rather comfortably (still over 50% health).

I usually save the CoT LTs until I've gather 3 or 4, so I'll update this later with the reward. Thanks, as always, to everyone here for the advice and strategies.

First try, no boosts with 4/4/4 @ 131. I miscalculated the amount of damage PS would do, but that didn't matter since I'd been able to get a whole lot of red and green powers out to finish off the OG.

Banking the LT till the SHIELD Rank thing sorts itself out.

My 3/0/1 lvl 111 is sadly struggling here. I've gotten him down to about 2k HP several times, but I don't think I can quite squeak it out. If I had a red, or even a second black, I could probably do it.

I got the job done with an lv 70 Ghost Rider, with an spec of 5/1/4, on my very first try with no boost. First off, the board was very kind to me, since I was able to make atleast 4 critical tiles, (in all of GR's colors) thoughout the match. I saved enough black to use Penance Stare twice (used only after I was under 40-50% health). GR's attack tiles from his "Burning Rudder", (used about 3 or so times) move finished off the deal, (thankfully because GR's health was 288hp, before I won the match).

Got a redflag.pngicon_warmachine.png for my trouble, I do need him so... icon_neutral.gif
