Index of low-level/low-cover Crash of the Titans victories

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: I'm on an indefinite hiatus from this game so I won't be updating this thread (at least until I relapse back into MPQ addiction).

A lot of players, me included, are often curious about what minimum covers and/or levels a 4* needs in order to beat their DDQ4. Peter used to record this info in his invaluable DDQ4 strategy thread, but in an effort to keep such a list up to date, I've decided to compile instances where a low-level and/or low-covered character won. I've copied a bunch of records from Peter's thread, but if you have/had a build that's lower than the ones listed, please reply in this thread and I'll update the list!

NOTE: My criteria for inclusion are a little more restrictive than Peter's, i.e. I'm looking for the bottom-most level or a build that either has few of or is entirely lacking a key color.

Update 2016-10-02: Re-sorted the list to reflect the new Crash order.

Possibly redundant, but I beat iceman alwith 1/2/1 @ 90 last cycle. Strategy is boosting match damage, chasing blue as fast as possible, and then waiting until there are several blue matches on the board before using the stun.
  • I beat Hulkbuster vs Hulk back in 1/18/16 -- was so excited I posted about it! viewtopic.php?p=471693#p471693

lvl 94 0/4/1 -- My strategy? ... get a TON of luck to get a a ridiculous amount of match 5's for a few overdrives. Get Hulk low enough and hope he kills himself. Luckily I have managed a few more Hulkbuster covers since then... he is now a 0/5/2 ... still no Red.

Actual strategy was something more along the lines of - use damage buffs and +black cp, use Overdrive as fast as possible x2 to deal more damage to him each turn, hoping your strike tiles don't get matched away, but not so much damage to proc Anger. Use Hulk-Proof to defend yourself and prevent him from matching Green. Your goals are to keep him away from Red and Green - I think you can take one hit from either at lvl 94 from what I remember, but not much more. Hopefully if he gets a ton of green, like my Hulk did, he also has enough red for Smash as well... and suicides you.

Yes, that build looks redundant, but don't worry Vhailorx, you're otherwise well-represented in this list! Do you have bad luck getting covers, or do you just like the challenge of seeing how low you can go?

Beat him today 3-0-2 on 8th try.

One of the most useful posts on this forum for the 3-4* transition. I would love to see this stickied to the Announcements.

This last time, my 1/3/1 level 70 iceman beat Fezzik.

Wondering if my 2/2/3 X-23 stands a chance if I dump some ISO in. Last time, I just couldn't heal.

2/2/2 CHulk @111. Beat beast in 2 tries. Boosted +100% match damage all, +50% blue/purple match damage, +50% black/green match damage.

Just need to deny blue and green as much as possible. Save green for emergency removal of blue special tiles. Stockpile blue to make green more powerful. Will require some board luck, but it's possible.

Ha! I don't play especially competitively, but I do tend to pick up new characters as they release. I guess I accrue covers at just the right rate to have 3-7 covers for new releases by the time their first crash rolls around. That will probably be true this time around for quake/pun/winter soldier/war machine too. So maybe I will make more appearances here!

Redundant, but 2/1/0 miles @ 70. No boosts, first try.

Just go invis, protect the tile, deny purple, and be patient. That's really all there is to it.

Even if he cascades enough purple for Sleight of Hand, at level 70 you can survive a couple. The AoE damage isn't huge. Finished him off 1/2/0 level 90...invisibility tiles are the great LT engine for low level Crashes.

I took some damage gathering the purple for invis and waiting for a favorable board, so once I got invis, I only had enough health to eat 1 purple. I survived it with 118 health. He cast 2 more during the fight, but,i was able to match one away an bait him into a match4 that cleared the other).

His purple aoe isn't terrible, but it's also the only thing that hurt you once you go invis. So I think purple denial is the way to go.

I managed a win against Luke Cage, with a level 115 1/1/4 Kingpin. Using Crit boost, +2all, and Match Damage.

Took like three tries but it finally finished. His Defense tile made life heck, but I kept denying yellow and black. Slowly plugging away and eventually 65 power attack tiles overwhelmed, and I won. I had I think sub 200 health. But I did it. He never managed a Jab Jab Cross or a Righteous.

Haxis and I both managed to beat Nova's crash at 2/0/1 level 90. Ties the existing one at 2/1/0 level 90.

2/0/1 is just a little bit easier than 2/1/0, because the black helps you get strike tiles that enable Takeoff. Impressive win, all the same!
