Frequent, inconvenient game freeze

It seems ever since the update, whenever I play with Jace, the game freezes at awful times in both the regular story mode and the event.

I was 1-2 turns away from beating Tyrant of Valakut (finally) the latest time this happened, so that was extremely frustrating.

The animations (such as the spinning trap gems) continue, but the game simply stops. Pausing doesn't work, clicking on the portraits will make a slight animation to acknowledge the click but won't bring up the character animation, etc. Last time this happened, the opponent just started taking his turn.

It's extremely frustrating that I can't complete the event because of this.

    The last time it happened, it was just after a "no more moves" rearrangement (which I see is a bug elsewhere in this forum), but I don't recall the other times having that same problem.
