PVP - Point/Placement break for visibility

My understanding of the higher end pvp mechanics are that once you pass a certain threshold you become "visible to everyone". I'm not even sure what that means, but in the Hood event, I climbed to 650 with my 220/190/190 hood/gsbw/doom.
Usually, I can sit around 650 with a team like that and hardly get hit, if at all. But this time 650 put me in about 16th place and over the next 12 hours I got smashed back down into the 200s. My only consolation was the thought of how many people thought they were getting 50 from me and got 10
So, does anyone know at what point you become a giant target for everyone? Do you just automatically get dropped into everyone's queue when you hit top 20?

no idea but my experience is if I can stay out of t50 range, hits are few and far between. usually I get too bored and push too high and get hammered and play the yo yo game until later in the event when I'm ready to push and shield, but when I didn't have extra time and just played up to the 60s or 70s and stopped and later when everyone passed me and was in the 120s, play a few more matches to the 60s or 70s, that seemed to stem the beat downs, but it is very roster dependent and even slice dependent possibly.udonomefoo wrote:My understanding of the higher end pvp mechanics are that once you pass a certain threshold you become "visible to everyone". When I hit T25 and above the "kick me" sign adds a bright neon glow, so yes a combination of points/position. Those whales need to put people in place.0

It also depends on which time slice you are in with regards to frequency of getting hit. Obviously the busier slices you will get hit less. S1 & S5 you can slide under the radar more.
I was in S4 for hood PvP due to needing fist purple. Got top 5 easily but targets were far less and I got hit three times more than I do when I'm in S5.0 -
I almost always do slice 2 or 3, depending on the day of the week the end falls on. For the last couple of seasons, all hell has broken loose for me near 800, where I'm usually in t50 or so. About half the time I can get 1 more fight in after 800 before the barrage of attacks comes in.0

Hood is also an older character and essential for any roster. Chances are, the majority of the player base has him fully covered and maxed. That gives everyone a larger gun to play with. Since yours is not, that puts you lower on the totem pole.0

Retals & attacks seem to come right after you do a # of quick succession fights. It's not a bad idea to throw up a 3-hour shield after you have a # of quick succession fights. That will prevent you from losing points during the ensuing wave of attacks. I've been experimenting with that over the past couple events 1 day before the end of an event & it's enabling me to maintain good pointage while heading into the final day.W4L Andre wrote:I almost always do slice 2 or 3, depending on the day of the week the end falls on.
