How do I know which countdown tile belongs to which enemy?

If I am fighting 3 thugs, how do I know which countdown belongs to which enemy?
Is there an indicator somewhere?
I know it's the not always to first guy.
This would help a lot so I know which guy to kill before his countdown ends.

    Tap on the enemy portraits to switch targets. CD tiles owned by the enemy you switch to will blink briefly during the switch.

    If you pay close attention to the skull on the cd tiles, the white colored ones are yours. And the black colored skulls are the enemy cd tiles.

    Edit: Same thing with strike and attack.

    it gets even funnier with kingpin max and he tosses down all of his freaking countdowns.
