Yes, this another plea to change the reward structure for 4* PVEs since there was no response from D3 after this post (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=25222) got OVER 200 UPVOTES. I'm no going to repeat what mischeifmaker said, since he said everything that needed to be said thoughtfully and rationally, unlike some posts which seek to gain simply through complaining.

Changing the reward structure could encourage more people to actually play the upcoming PVE for a 4* as they may feel like their alliance has a chance and would not go into it with the same disdain as we all do when competing for Top 50. Many people have abandoned the idea of competing for these altogether because it is simply not worth it and, more importantly, not fun.

Just over one year ago, MPQ had reached over 2 million downloads. One can only imagine how many players there are now amongst the 20K+ alliances. 4* PVEs only give alliance rewards to the top 50 (1000 players), a reward system which has not been adjusted to accommodate the substantial growth of the game. Would changing the structure to reward the top 100, and 1000 more players out of MILLIONS (ok, probably a lot less after the 4thor nerf), really be that bad? A mere 2000 players in the game would have one (or more depending on individual placement) cover for a new 4*.

And that many more players would unlock the ability to turn around and purchase covers for said new 4*, or at minimum purchase a shiny new roster slot to keep him in.

It's almost like 4* characters are supposed to be rare or something.

the bigger issue is back-to-back new character release PVEs when D3 said they would not do this again after the last fiasco.

This may be a season award.

Admittedly, if it is, that would mean that Professor X never got to be one.
  • Except they have repeatedly said they are not supposed to be rare. And that the 3*-4* transition was supposed to be "smoother" than 2*-3*.

You can't have it both ways, either 4* characters are shiny roster badges that don't mean anything, or they are legitimate sought after characters and deserve a normal PvE distribution (and follow up progression reward).

Really, is it the end of the world if you at least extend the Alliance reward to 100 so all those alliances that make 52 don't break apart trying to hit top 50? At a minimum this should happen, if not extending the reward structure to mirror the KK rewards, 3-10 for 3 covers, 11-50 for 2, 51-150 for 1 cover, and 1-2 gets a bonus cover of the 4* being released.

I would potentially rage quit if that were the case. They are releasing them too quickly. There should be a pace to 4* so 1 of each cover can be given out for alliance reward.

part of me wonders if they know they are killing the game and the lifespan has shrunk so they are trying to "push out" all the things in the works in a desperate attempt to save it. Becuase people who are ready to quit over issues like transition problems, play style, pvp stalemate, pve grinding, and too frequent charecter realeases will all of a sudden be all like "wow I was totally gonna quit, but now I have 3 new 4* to spend 2 years trying to collect."

They make most of their money from cover packs, or so I have seen people saying on the forum. So even preventing the people from getting a single cover requires them to buy ridiculous numbers of cover packs until they get all 3 covers. I could see some people spending $200 just to get one of each cover.

You have just made me lose all faith in humanity. Seriously. Just say no to cover packs.

Sometimes I forget that MPQ is a casino, except all rewards a digital and the house wins 100% of the time, really a decent set up they have.
