Does selling off characters have any effect on scaling?

Can this or anything else lower your scaling for PVP/PVE events??

No, the only thing that matters with regards to scaling is your performance during the matches.0

Thank you!
What about the group/bracket you get paired with on the event?0 -
Nope. Also based on performance and, to a lesser extent, when you join.Gagutz wrote:Thank you!

Well...indirectly, I would say. After you sell them off, your performance will get worse and therefore your scaling will drop. Lol.
It wouldn't be immediate though.0 -
hey polarity, dont want to argue with you here, but doesnt the highest levels of your roster have a little bit to do with the INITIAL levels of the nodes?
like my trivial nodes are basically around level 50 and under. some people must have it higher, some lower. im sure they took a look at my roster for that number.
ive heard somewhere the game also looks at the average of some of your highest levels? so selling off just one guy doesnt automatically drop the level of enemies.
and lastly, i heard the game sometimes might even look at the last couple of matches you play and base the enemy levels off of those matches and what level heroes you used and how well you performed.0 -

Initial levels seem to be scaled off of previous performances.
Much like scaling determines how much your levels rise in an event, the same measurements are the determinant in the starting levels of the next event.0 -
Actually he's right that initial levels are based on roster, but dumping characters isn't going to make them easier. If you dump lower level characters then your initial levels will, theoretically, go up and be harder because of a higher average level roster. If you dump higher level characters then the levels would likely go down, but you have a weaker roster and can't handle the nodes as well.Arondite wrote:grapez wrote:hey polarity, dont want to argue with you here, but doesnt the highest levels of your roster have a little bit to do with the INITIAL levels of the nodes?

The real takeaway from this is that you should only level characters that are fully covered and that you can get to a fairly high level in one go. Don't level characters that have partial completeness unless you have the essential powers covered. So while taking your 5/5/0 X-Force to the soft cap is not a terrible idea, taking a 3/3/3 to the soft cap is not advised.0
