alliance rank question-- people leaving or bigger teams?

I noticed i think it was in the last PVE it was your rank out of like 24k teams. The last PVP that ended on weds im sure it said your rank was out of 21K and was like your telling me 3000 teams dont play PVE but did not think that much about, but this PVP is saying your rank out of 18k teams. your rank out of 18,106 teams. I sort of find it hard to belive that 3,000 + team folded up in 2 days?

    Just consolidation of alliances. People teaming to maximize scores, and less straggler alliances with 5-10 people in them....
