I have 3 *** characters with 4 covers. one is 2/2/0, the other 2 are 2/1/1. the 2/2/0 level max is 63 and both of the 2/1/1 characters level max is 55. Is there some sort of formula?

I also have another set of *** characters one at 4/0/1 and one at 3/1/2 and both level maxes are 78. Is it not just total covers that dictates level max?

  • The first cover of each color adds fewer levels than all additional ones of that color, so a 3.0.0 will have a much higher max level than a 1.1.1, but adding new colors to the 3.0.0 will only increase the max level a little.

I'd have to double check my notes, but I'm pretty sure I recall it being the following:

    1st cover - level 40 character
1st cover of other colors - 2.5 levels each (rounds if you only have one)
2nd cover of each color - +10 levels
    3rd cover+ of each color - +13 levels

    So 40 + (2.5 * 2) + (10 * 3) + (13 * 7) is 166.

4*s share a similar progression, as I recall though I'd definitely have to look those up to give you exact numbers.
  • There is a spreadsheet here:

Unfortunately, this was back when levels were lower, so you have to add 25 to level 3 heroes, 9 to level 1 heroes.

This is slightly off, as a 2/2/2 has a max level of 76, not the 75 that your formula would indicate.

One of the second covers appears to be 11, while one of the third covers appears to only be 12.

    2/1/1 to 2/2/1 is from 55 to 66
    2/3/3 to 3/3/3 is from 102 to 114
