    Miss Marvel can destroy any and all tiles, even friendly ones. I don't see why she couldn't blow up Doom's traps randomly. Or any other traps for that matter, and since TUp tiles are not colour tiles, I imagine she utterly destroys them instead of triggering as if on match, e. g. Ambush, Demolition.
    Thanks for your nice list.

    Happy to help, thank you for compiling & maintaining this thread. I'm not looking forward to fighting Dr. Doom with this new skill so I'm actively conspiring ways to nullify his Diabolical activities. I'm hoping to try Surgical Strike on blue followed by Force Bubbles locking down purple tiles if we fight him on a non essential node.

    Does Mystique counter Doom too by cascading away purple tiles with possible traps already on them? Though it might be risky if the ensuing cascade doesn't happen and you've just given Doom more tiles to place traps or match purple sooner...

    Mystique versus Doom is tricky, she can match purple tiles away and then stun Doom to reduce his ability to set up new traps but using her blue may offer more purple tiles to make traps or cascade them away or set Doom up to hit you hard with technopathic strike/cascade/summon demons. Possible counter but not a reliable one

    Updated on Jan 11th (Luke Cage, Doom).
    Red Panda, not sure if many people use locked tiles much at all unless they like experimenting like Nonce and the mode allows for it a la Survival Mode. For most players, neither Invisible Woman nor Bag-Man are characters that I'd recommend to use over even the likes of She-Hulk, Octopus and IM 40.

    Yeah I know Invisible Woman won't be recommended but I do like the "concept" of her being able to shutdown Dr. Doom's diabolical scheming lol ~ I'll probably use X-Force/Fury to Surgical Strike Blue then throw out traps that may cascade trigger into a match (or sometimes even a double match) to knockout Doom before he collects 10 purple. Some of Fury's traps could also technically disarm enemy doom traps on purple but they'll also be at risk of being overwritten by his passive on successive turns.

    to do: add how Nightstalker counters goon AP generation, especially maxed NS; add that 2* Marvel doesn't destroy traps when overwriting them with TUp tiles; add Squirrel Girl as she's released.
  • Nice and detailed guide, many of those which I have known through the course of playing the game.
    Thanks!

    Are there any real counters to board shake? None right? I figure that's pretty much what makes XF so good.

    I hope if they rework IW that she has some anti-board-shake mechanics.

    The rumored Star Lord abilities will be a good counter for cheap AP abilities, assuming he makes it to live as-is. Increasing AP hurts cheap abilities more than expensive ones.

    The 'best' we currently have:
    Hood makes you pay for using TUp removal shakeups;
    Loki counters most forms of shakeup (but not TUAP adding, TUp match-4s and match-5s do not trigger Loki's mischief);
    Mystique somewhat mitigates excessive matching that occurs during cascades, although her skill depends on a tile which is vulnerable;
    and, of course, passive defense specialists: Hulk and Captain Marvel.
    And yes, IW would be awesome for forcing the AI to take bad matches and to be unable to pull off cascades. Bag-Man... Maybe in some other universe, more kind to joke characters.
  • Updated on Feb 9th with Star-Lord and Squirrel Girl.
  • "Red special tile users like Psylocke, Dr Doom, Daken, Blade, A.Wolverine, Punisher, Elektra,"
    Additional counters besides Torch and Sentry are the soft counters of Cyclops and MNMags.

    MNMags has become a better counter for Daken as he counters both healing and strikes.
  • Kamala Khan's Inhuman Stretchiness is a counter for several things:

    Daken's health regen. (convert 8 blue to green)
    Patch's strike tiles.
    Minor counter to other transformation abilities, eg IF's Purple or Cyclops Yellow.
    XForce Surgical Strike (as long as your strong color isn't green).

    Hard Counter:
    Bullseye 3* just RUINS Dr. Doom's plans all over the place.

    [*]Purple: Counter Attack tiles and deal damage
    [*]Green: Destroy the oldest Purple tiles on the board, match Red tiles away

    He can do the same for any special tile creator with Purple, but his Green is specifically good against trap tile creators that place their traps on particular colors because you can figure out which they are and selectively knock out those tiles. 4 or 5 guesses should be enough. Thematically this is great -- vs Elektra and Daredevil.
  • Carnage's Alien Instincts is a subtle counter to IF's exquisite technique.

    I find it best to stun him (like with G4mora or Icem4n, not Polaris) or to nuke him with big hits (many options, depending on your roster), but multi-hit damage (Polaris, Sabretooth, Medusa, etc.) is NOT the way to go against Blob.
