Can't play at all due to message glitch!

I was replaying a Dr doom battle in the early missions and after the battle a message appeared telling me to us me to use a cover token to recruit black widow. The problem is I don't have a token, I got one the first time I played but I used it already. The message doesn't let me click anything but the recruit heroes button, and I have no money to buy crystals. Help?
