cannot enter game on steam : "check internet connection"

Cannot play on steam,Loading screen keep saying "CHECK INTERNET CONNECTION". it's been 1.5 hours.
this never happen before. anyone experience the same?

    Since yesterday I too have been experiencing the same problem unless I'm connected to my WiFi at home, but anywhere else the screen stays on checking Internet connection and i'm in the middle of the story line quest to win blade. Help.
