Can't reach shop to buy Hero Points (iOS8)

So I wanted to buy HP to have Captain Marvel on my team, but I can't reach the shop. I keep getting an error message that says "Can't reach App Store. Please check your internet connection and try again". My internet connection is working just fine, though, and I can play the game - the shop is the only thing that isn't working. Also, the regular App Store is working, too, just updated another app.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
(I'm using the latest iOS release on an iPhone 4S.)

    I am having the EXACT same problem. It is very frustrating as I wanted to buy ISO to help me finish strong on an event...
