Recovering game from dead tablet?

Hi,
My wife has been playing for a long time now and hasn't linked her game to Facebook, only Google+. She wasn't aware it didn't save her game state via her google ID.

Last night her tablets wifi failed and no longer works. We have a couple of other tablets in the house, but when she setup the game on one of those it started over from scratch. Unfortunately there's no other way to get the broken device online and therefore she can't link her facebook account from there directly. Is there any way of recovering her game state and transferring it to a replacement device without using facebook?

Faced with losing months of progress she's ready to give up playing.
